Got an email from Don today. What fun this would be. Too bad I can't go since I will be moving the next day.


Will fill up early so sign up today!
All day advanced lapping clinic at Portland International Raceway on Thursday, August 4th. Fee $225.00 with two run groups of no more than 25 cars per group. Includes lunch, spotter notes, turn workers.

New to Portland International Raceway?
We do require orientation and coaching for new drivers to Portland. If you have had less than 4 lapping days with us then we would highly recommend a 1/2 coach for Portland at an additional $150.00 (2 hours of time) same price as Pacific.
More than 3 track days but new to Portland? Then we would require a 1/4 coach for $75.00 for an hours orientation time.

Allow 3 hours from Seattle driving time to Portland Track is 5 minutes from hotel, restaurants, and fuel.

Hotel Information: Oxford Suites at Jansen Beach ask for the ProFormance discount. Direct line 503-283-3030 ask for Mary at Group Sales. If we can get 20-25 rooms then they will offer a further discount. Currently 30 rooms available.
12226 N Jantzen Drive 97217 Hotel employees a security guard covering inside and out. Participants are welcome to park their cars in the circular drive/the front of the hotel that is well lit and seen by the front desk.

Portland International Raceway is within the city limits of the City of Portland and is located just west off from the I-5 Freeway (exit 306-B), about 6 miles west of Portland International Airport, 2 miles south of Vancouver, Washington and about 3 miles north of downtown Portland.

Schedule
7:30 Registration Sign-In (2 release forms to sign, numbers assigned, receipts for payment)
8:00 Mandatory Drivers' Meeting in Rose Cup Room base of tower. Being late or missing meeting may delay your start time.
9:00-9:30 AM Lapping “Ducks in a Row for drivers new to Portland Group 1
9:30-10:00 Group 2 Rotating 1/2 hour sessions with spotter notes available for review after each session
Lunch provided during 45 minute break End time 4:30 PM

Guidelines for the Day

This is Practice-Not a Race-Maintain 100 foot gap from other cars except in passing zones Passing on front and back straight only. Complete the pass by mid-straight. ALL CARS must use the chicane Flag stations at the chicane festival, Turn #3/4/5 and Turn #7 will be staffed.

A Yellow Flag indicates possible blockage No Passing- Slow Down. Checkered flag displayed at Turn #9 will indicate end of session. Complete a cool downlap and retire to paddock using exit road off driver's left just prior toTurn #9. Cross flags at Turn # 9 indicates the session is half over. If you are sharing a driver coach please come in at this time to pick up or drop off your driver coach.

To enter Hot Pits or Paddock during a session use exit road off driver's left just prior to Turn # 9. Approach exit from driver's left-Slow Down- Hand Up-Turn Signal
On. Re-entry to the track will be from the hot pits following a signal from the pit marshal Any off-course excursion resulting in impact-Driver must report to medical.

Pre-Lapping Checklist
Tires - even wear, good tread depth, no delaminating chunks, flat spots or cords
Wheel bearings good (no mechanical wobble in the wheels)
Lug nuts - verify they are tight
Brake pedal is firm when pumped a couple times
Brake lines in good condition (not cracked or ballooned)
Brake pads - enough pad left for the upcoming day?
Brake lights working
Engine hoses and belts in good condition
Throttle return springs in good condition
Fluid levels (coolant, oil, transmission, differential, etc.)
Fluid caps on tight
No fluid leaks
Nothing loose on the car body
Battery tie-down is tight
Absolutely every loose item in the car taken out. Check on the floor, the dash, under the seats, and in the trunk. If it's not bolted down, take it out.
Empty the trunk
Tighten the spare tire, jack, and tools
If your wheels have any pop-out caps or inserts, take them off
Tire pressure - be sure to set the cold tire pressures before you drive the car. Generally, you'll want to set them at least 5 PSI above your normal street pressures.
Full tank of fuel

Cancellation Policy:
A 50% deposit is required to reserve a course. Make checks payable to ProFormance Inc. Cancellations: We require 14 days notice of cancellation. Failure to notify our office, either by telephone or writing, prior to 14 days of your reserved school date will result in forfeiture of your deposit. No refunds are given for cancellation less than 7 days from scheduled date. Payment in full required 7 days prior to each scheduled event.
