Default Hey Zeke and Mark

What rpm do you trap with 3.42's, and what's your cruise rpm @ 70mph?

Same question for your Mark. I think you told me you cruised at 2600 @ 70 though. Correct? Whatcha trap at?

I'm typically trapping around ~104-105 mph running 13.4-13.5 which would be about 4600-4700 rpm, and at 70 mph, I'm right about 2200 rpm.

I could run up to 134 mph in 3rd gear.

Yeah, I cruise at 2600+ @ 70 mph, but I have 4.11s. And I trap at 6k.

I know u didn't ask me ( ), but I have been consistently trapping between 106-108 MPH with my 3.42's and I run under 2500 at 75 on the freeway.......for whatever that is worth.

I have 3:42's......at 70 is 2200 rpms. Always run a 104-105 no matter what I run in the 1/4, a 12.9 or a 12.69 I still run in the 105 area. Even before the stall converter I was running 13.1-2's at 105.

Who loves ya Darrin?

When I changed from 3.23s to the 4.11s my et dropped by 3/10ths, my 60's dropped by 1, and I picked up by 2mph. My trap rpms went up from ~4700 to 6k. The stall dropped my 60's by 2/10ths, the et (now) by 3, and the mph & rpm stayed the same.

It's looking like going from 3.23's to 3.42's isn't going to do much for me.

I'd like to trap around 5500 for more power on the top end for the ****** sandbaggers at the track. But I guess I could just use Nitrous instead.

Anybody have 3.7x rear gears with an auto?

Out of curiosity Mark, what did your gas mileage do when you took the plunge to the 4.11? That was my biggest issue when I decided on 3.42s. The change there was almost not-existant.

3.73s are THE gear of choice for guys with A4s Rick. That is what Ryan runs....and Ellis too I believe. They will put you right in the 5-5500 range.

And my mileage went from 22+ down to about 18 or so....

Perfect. When this rear goes, and it will within the warranty period. 3.73's are going in.
