Unhappy Top 10...

Man... I'm almost wondering if we should expand that to a top 20 considering where the bar is now. You gotta have like a 12.1 to even get in the list now, and I'm betting that pretty soon you'll need to run 11's to qualify for it.

It would be nice to see where everyone else is.

If it were updated it would look like the following:

1) Ryan K 11.026 @128.71 (1.821) '98 B4C A4 <---- In 10's next yr
2) silverbullet02 11.458 @120.41 (1.665) '02 T/A M6
3) Robert56 11.711 @115.53 (1.653) '02 ZO6 M6 <----As soon as his bar get in he's 11.04 @ 126 (1.56x) ----- He'll be in the 10's next yr
4) Racehead 11.947 @115.25 (1.73) '71 RS/Z28 M6 <------ From what I hear mid to low 11's next yr
5) strobelite 11.98 @113 (1.72) '96 T/A A4 <-- mid to low 11's w/ more juice next yr
6) Rockin C Racing 12.02 @114 (1.72) '95 Z28 TH350
7) tru_ice 12.02 @115.41 (1.799) '02 C5 A4 <--- I think the mph should move me to the 6 spot, there was still room for an 11 ----- Stopping at 11.5 next yr
8) Tanzor_Z28 12.122 @115.01 (1.71) '01 Z28 M6 <---- low 11's next yr., gutted and juiced
9) WAHUSKER 12.14 @113 (1.71) '00 WS6 A4 <--- Put him in the top 5 next yr.
10) 99LSS1 12.206 @110.45 (1.687) '99 SS Camaro A4 <---- Needs heads and he should be a high 11 next yr, w/ NO2 he'd be a low to mid 11 next yr.

Not to be contrite Zeke, but this is why I suggested a top 20 at the beginning of this year. I figured this would happen. I guess it depends on why we have the list, and what info are we trying to present with it.

Myself I prefer to involve as many people in fun events as possible. And while having the "slowest car" in the NW running a 12.1x might be impressive, it also excludes a whole bunch of people. It's like saying all the cars that run low 12s to low 13s don't belong (because they don't spend enough $).

Make me the asst NW Moderator & I will gladly keep track of the top 20 or 25 cars.

I agree with the top 20 or 25 thing Mark. I believe our mod even spoke of a 2nd list so everyone could see where they stand even if they weren't in the top 10. I'd like to know what everyones times are ? Although I'm not sure anyone would would want to know if they were the slowest in the entire NW

PS I wonder where my 12.99 run in the WS6 would stand ? It would be fun to know. If I borrowed your tires and threw a clutch in it I'm sure I could muster a 12.5 or so without destroying my stock rear end ?

You most definitely will have to run a solid 11 in order to stay on the top 10 list, so I think adding a top 20 or top 25 list would be good... we also have a lot more users now than we did at the beginning of the year, so it only makes sense to expand the standings.

I'm thinking the top 10 will be made out of all "roll bar necessary" cars next year... I'm just hoping the budget allows my "red tin can" project to be up there.

I completely agree. And I'm not saying this because I am one of the 13 second guys (not going to last), I'm saying it because there's a lot of us in this group, and it would be nice to have a look at a larger cross section.

I wish that was my call, because if it was I would not have a problem with that. I'm just the guy who helps pay for the trophies.

If you're going to do the top 20 or 25 then you might as well just do a fastest list and let all people submit their best times along with their list of mods. They've had that going in the truck section for quite some time. Look here:

http://www.performancetrucks.net/for...d.php?t=318217

Then everyone can be on the list and know exactly where they stand within a week or so of updates. If you do 20 or 25... there are probably only another 30 or so who might post up numbers anyway. Most of those won't likely change much.

3) Robert56 11.711 @115.53 (1.653) '02 ZO6 M6 <--- mid - high10's
4) silverbullet02 11.458 @120.41 (1.665) '02 T/A M6 <-- low 11's
5) Racehead 11.947 @115.25 (1.73) '71 RS/Z28 M6 <-- low - mid 11's

Print that list out, and let's see how skewed it is from the actual one. I'm sure that's pretty accurate. Who's the blue camaro? And isn't the teal one, a bracket racing car.

And yeah that's a good idea, we should go ahead and seperate, FI, NO2, and NA cars.

Blue Camaro = Ellis
Teal Camaro = jimbob

They were out for the season..

And.. Don't discount some of us from this year simply because I didn't make big performance mods to our cars this season. I'll probably be spending a shitload of money on making my car faster next year, I just got tied up with doing body work and paint this year.

I spent $15K on my car this year... probably won't spend quite that much this year, but I am looking at at least a $6-8K budget, and you know good and well I'm planning on spending on go-fast parts.

Bill I remember these one time out wonders.
Todd 12.90
Steve 12.95
Bill 12.99
I am sure there are others I am not remembering.

I think several list would be cool. Some of us are just joining the fun and might never make the top ten.

Some Suggestions
Top Ten
Top LS1
Top LT1
Top Rookie (x amount of times at track you are off list)

We don't really have the car count todo seperate lists. Just make a top whatever, 10, 20, Then have another list with say top 50 so people have something to move up and to compete with.

So des a top 50 or whatever... its still a ranking but it lets more people compete. If you think the competition for the top 10 is tough... so is the competition in the 30-20 range.

Speaking of competition... Ryan, I'll run you heads up for the title if you agree to tow Jims car during the race. Lets at least make it fair...

I like the Idea as well. All though for me the fun is just plain racing (with no breaking )..........But a top 20 list would be pretty cool, considering there are quite a few of us here on the forum hitting the track on a regular basis. I hope to me in the mid 11 to high 11's next year. If I can get the bugs worked out of my nightmare.
