He does have an auto, but leaves on a unit, from a T-brake, with a decent stall so it still hits it pretty hard.

Fords have the 8.8 which is much stronger and better built than Chevy's 7.5 rear ends. I don't know why they didn't just bite the bullet and develop a strong rear end for them. Anyway.......They are notorious for breaking when HP increases to around 400 or so. Although there have been freaks out there that have handled much more than the rest of them.

You hit the nail on the head Cory, Broken parts are just that, Broken parts. Everyday is race for me. Car sees the rev limiter 2 to 3 times a day and it gets power shifted at least 5 to 6 times a week!

So you run high/mid 9s with mid 1.40 60 fts? Congrats!

No, I am not going to have this discussion with a Ford guy, I would venture to say most people here know I feel about Ford after my 91 GT. I know auto's are faster in the long run, but I pefer an M6 to an A4. A4's are just plain easier on 10 bolts mod for mod.

I would totally agree in most cars, but when you make the power he does...it still hits the rear end pretty hard.

Full weight F-bodies have been breaking the stock rear end for as long as the LS1 has been in 'em. It doesn't take much in the way of mods and/or an aggressive driver to spit 'em out. Kinda like driveshafts on the same cars. Sticky tires and a manual break stock shafts regularly, too. This isn't miracle **** so why is it so surprising?

There were engines in Camaro's before the LS1?!? Are you sure? That's right... some of them did get a L98... LOL
I saw a quote the other day around here somewhere that said-
"LT1 the Crossfire of the 90's"... I still can't stop laughing!
