On the Dyno Subject
So, way back when LS1 tuning was a new thing. There were some little know issues kicking peoples asses. I'll share one of those things with you guys. Just so you understand how much the Computer has you by the ***** when it comes to running these damn engines...
For a 1998 F-body, if you had an aftermarket converter, say 3500 rpm range, and you held it stalled up for any thing more than 3-5 seconds, the computer would KILL the HP and do some odd shifting business. I have in car video of the Phenominon (sp?, who cares) and I have Back to Back Dyno graphs. You guys will get a kick from this...
These 3 runs are all accomplished within 15 minutes. The second and third runs were started from a higher RPM and the first was from a very low rpm (making it stall up longer).
Thats right, a 60RWHP kick in the nuts that Nobody could explain. Again, all three runs back to back.

One question for you. Is this the same function that causes the Low Trac light to come when power shifting at the track, even though the TCS is off? Because if that is the case, it is retarding my timing and I am running slower than I should be.
