Has anyone hooked up to a wide screen tv in High Def with a jammin surround sound system yet? I have a set-up that's just aching to try this out, but am going to wait till prices come down. Split screen racing in High def, ya man.

One of the guys I work with has his 360 hooked to a hi-def with 5.1 and it is awesome. You hear people coming up behind you and you think there is someone there because the visuals are so realistic. It is undiscribable.

 

best buy held a big event (crap load of xbox's) for microsoft in socal. bill gates was supposed to be there himself, along with some high class people. i would imagine that is why.

So everyone that is pissed about getting theirs in early '06, it's not true. Gamestop/EB said that because they don't want to be held accountable for any delays. You will in fact get your system either this week or next if you pre ordered it.

What are you showing? It says that because they aren't pre orders. All this Early 06 stuff isn't going to happen. Shipments are for pre orders and retail walk in sales. They are talking about online orders. It won't take till March 2006 to get done with pre orders. It's just an estimate. EB games doesnt' know anything. People will get their online orders soon.

 

I am showing how much EB wants for the 360. I don't know anything about Early 06 orders or anything else, just used the place you mentioned to show the price gouging on it. :shrug:

 

AH, I understand now. They only offer bundles online, which sucks. Best Buy, Costco, Sams Club, Walmart, CC, are your best bets. Gamestop/EB has to fulfill all pre orders, which COULD take to the end of this season.

 

I do have my first gen XBOX on my HD BigScreen and hooked up to my thumpin Surround system

Awesome is all I can say about that!!

And.......I just picked up a Hitachi 16:9 42" HD Plasma last weekend for my bedroom. It puts my 43" 4:3 Hitachi Rear Projection HD BigScreen in my living room to shame. I didn't think it was possible. Freaking amazing image on the Plasma.

I'll be hooking up my XBOX 360(when i get one) to my plasma.

 

I have no doubt........I got my PS2 from EBGames back in the day and was thrilled that it came a day early...but this time around, I chose to wait till after the rush since I don't have time to enjoy the stuff I already have right now.

 

Ouch, talk about a bad combo. Video games and Plasmas do not mix. Plasmas are the worst TV to game on. They will burn in your screen like crazy. But generally if you're careful and don't leave your games/TV on, you SHOULD be fine, but I would NOT risk it! But enjoy your TV, the 360 is one kick *** system. Sure it will look outstanding on the Plasma, but it def. is not worth the troubles.

 

yeah thats a bummer about plasma's but its getting better.
The 360 has a built in screen protector thats long overdue.

and component 1080p 30 x2
so there's 4 full HD inputs and an analog VGA input that will do perfect 720p for the 360.

ok then, point well taken my friend. the ps2 and xbox will stay on the rear projection big screen. no way in hell i'm wrecking my new plasma tv. thanks for the tip.

 

I just started to read up on that forum a week or so ago. another bud pointed me that way. haven't had much time to do so but there is some damned good info there on A/V gear.

 

Don't forget 1080i, as this is all I have, and true Hi Def and recordable, unlike HDMI. I was a early adopter and spent almost as much on my HT as my Vette. The sound side is brutaly awesome, with my sound of choice SACD (Hi Res music, which is the hi def of sound). With Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon, (recorded orig in 4-channel) in SACD, you can truly get "3-Dimensional Holographic Imagery". You have to hear it to believe it. Can't wait to get 360 hooked up to this set-up.

Then thers another one of some rediculous guy saying hes in college and needs your financial help so hes selling 3 Xbox 360s, tons of extras, and HIS 2002 RS camaro?!!! I am completely lost. The one that really got me is a guy selling (GET THIS) over 100 Xboxs. but he doesnt actually have them yet. Hes going to buy them as they come in then sell them to you so that "you can made a huge profit of $85K for yourself by buying my systems". He wants $45K for all 115 of them up front.
