Has anyone hooked up to a wide screen tv in High Def with a jammin surround sound system yet? I have a set-up that's just aching to try this out, but am going to wait till prices come down. Split screen racing in High def, ya man.

One of the guys I work with has his 360 hooked to a hi-def with 5.1 and it is awesome. You hear people coming up behind you and you think there is someone there because the visuals are so realistic. It is undiscribable.

Ok people...This is the truth...Major Nelson works with MSFT and here is a direct quote from him on Majornelson.com:
Xbox 360 Availability
Posted: November 26, 2005 @ 7:53 pm (1 day, 4 hours ago) By: Major Nelson
Visiting family here on the east coast, I took the opportunity over the past couple of days to stop in at various retailers in Southern New England to check out what people were saying about the Xbox 360. One thing I noticed was there is a large amount of incorrect information floating around regarding shipments of units. (One store (incorrectly) told me that ‘Microsoft won’t’ send us anymore until March.’) I double checked with the retail team, and while I can’t speak to each retail outlets specific distribution strategy, I can tell you that we (Xbox) have a weekly replenishment strategy. That means that we have new shipments of Xbox 360’s being sent out each week. If you hear that a store won’t get Xbox 360 from Microsoft until next year, you may want to gently remind your source that we in fact ARE shipping consoles out each week. The moral of the story is be patient and (once again) don’t believe all the rumors you hear.
So everyone that is pissed about getting theirs in early '06, it's not true. Gamestop/EB said that because they don't want to be held accountable for any delays. You will in fact get your system either this week or next if you pre ordered it.

Awesome is all I can say about that!!
And.......I just picked up a Hitachi 16:9 42" HD Plasma last weekend for my bedroom. It puts my 43" 4:3 Hitachi Rear Projection HD BigScreen in my living room to shame. I didn't think it was possible. Freaking amazing image on the Plasma.
I'll be hooking up my XBOX 360(when i get one) to my plasma.

Ouch, talk about a bad combo. Video games and Plasmas do not mix. Plasmas are the worst TV to game on. They will burn in your screen like crazy. But generally if you're careful and don't leave your games/TV on, you SHOULD be fine, but I would NOT risk it! But enjoy your TV, the 360 is one kick *** system. Sure it will look outstanding on the Plasma, but it def. is not worth the troubles.

yeah thats a bummer about plasma's but its getting better.
The 360 has a built in screen protector thats long overdue.
the new HP DLP HDTV's accept 1080p 60 through HDMI x2
and component 1080p 30 x2
so there's 4 full HD inputs and an analog VGA input that will do perfect 720p for the 360.
as of right now the output on the 360 is analog... http://www.anandtech.com/systems/sho...spx?i=2611&p=2
this bad boy comes in 58" and 65" to me its the best deal period right now for a high end HD set. 58" msrp is 4k and the 65" is 5k
over at www.avsforum.com you can get a deal around $2700 for the 58" and around $3700 for the 65"
with free shipping from tvauthority.com sponser.

check these ebay links out:
Theres a ton of these systems selling for $1,000,000 "buy now" options. WTF!?! one says you get an ipod, tv, bla blah. Another says theyll dress up like santa and deliver it. Then thers another one of some rediculous guy saying hes in college and needs your financial help so hes selling 3 Xbox 360s, tons of extras, and HIS 2002 RS camaro?!!! I am completely lost. The one that really got me is a guy selling (GET THIS) over 100 Xboxs. but he doesnt actually have them yet. Hes going to buy them as they come in then sell them to you so that "you can made a huge profit of $85K for yourself by buying my systems". He wants $45K for all 115 of them up front.
I hate people sometimes. stuff like this just brings down society as a whole.
