THIS BABY ROCKS!!!

We fired it up with open headers & it's LOUD! I guess an extra 55 cubic inches makes a difference. You could certainly tell it was a tame motor (as in low compression) but it has a VERY nice sound to it. Not as nice as Jimbobs (as in that hi comp sound), but certainly not stock sounding. Fired right up too.

We has a slight coolant leak at first, but it quit before we started the motor & never came back so we hung the exhaust & took her out for a test drive. I was worried with the 9.3 comp ratio this motor might be a little sluggish. HA! This ***** has some grunt. I think I bounced Ellis's head of the head rest when I poked it.

It felt faster than it used to be to us. For sure it has more torque. I nailed in at 25 mph, it downshifted & spun a litte, hit 2nd and spun the tires for about 30 ft. It NEVER did that with the Nittos on. I got on it a later in 2nd & let it shift into 3rd & DAMN it hit hard! I think I will be happy!

After our cruise to the store for some Mikes, and a trip to Dons (he wasn't home) we headed back to the ranch for pizza. (It occured to us we had eaten for 10 hours.) So we put it in the garage, looked under neath for leaks, and fuggin cried. Oil dripping from the bell housing! Evidently I nicked the rear seal installing it. So the tranny has to come out when we re-do the exhaust. FRACK!!!

THANKS ELLIS!!!

Hey I did my best on the seal! After I installed it and it still leaked Mark says "Maybe we should install it on the crank and not the inside of the car" Oh well I tried

Yes you did.....that was a Kodak moment when you threw it on the front seat & said "There, that should fix it". I thought I was going to wet myself.

PS Any objections / suggestions for my new sig wording Ellis?

That will come later Ryan. It will happen before the dyno & racing season, but my priority now is getting the blower on. I am going to have an all-iron center section built up, so it's not just swapping in my 3.40s.....

Mark what kind of hp/torque numbers do you think you'll see? What about estimated ET?

Damn you & that camera Ellis!!! First you tell me to check for the blower...

As for numbers I haven't a clue. It feels much stronger down low than the old motor, and feels like it pulls as hard up top. So I'm guessing I didn't lose much if any hp & gained some tq. I do plan to dyno it before the blower goes on to get a good comparison & baseline. Ellis thinks it would run 11.90s now. It could....I dunno.

Once I get the blower on & get it tuned you can even drive it Bill.
