Default RADIX Uber Alles

Sometimes a man doesn't know his motor's limitations. This is one of those times.

The motor made a couple of thumps as I was coasting down to legal highway speed after a 60-90 mph blast. It almost seemed like a tire went down.... but then I got the check engine light.... and then a low oil pressure warning script across the driver info screen.... and, finally, I was coasting down in a whole other way.

See pics for what happened...

Here' s some math thrown in for fun-

2am + 6 miles from home = $100 tow bill

((Radix at 9 psi + cam) - big hole in oil pan)/ 10,100 miles = no warranty

LQ4 with 2 broken rods = front timing cover, oil valley cover, maybe rocker arms, and flex plate are the only reuseable parts from entire engine.

I'll think of some more witty stuff later, I'm sure.

Now it's time to look for low 13s with 5 or 6 psi from the Radix

OUCH! Sorry about your loss man, that really sucks. I hope you get it back together bigger and badder than ever soon enough.

Thanks, Poik... I guess the end came about 300 days too soon. I had planned to retire it after next season.

It was runing pretty good last night considering it only had 6 good NGK TR6 plugs in it. Apparently the two front cylinders were bent... at least they were when I pulled them out today

I must say...

The fresh tranny rebuild from Speed Secrets and Yank 3000 felt AWESOME for the few hours that it was in before the big thump happened. Can't wait to roll that back out again.

Foot braking to 3500

Yes it was pretty wicked being in a 7,000 brick with all four tires spinning fighting for a direction

I wasn't going to mention THAT part of it, but since you did....

That sucks Cory!!! It sure was impressive to watch Saturday night!!!

So you're saying this seems like an equation to avoid?

(Speed Secrets tranny rebuild + Yank) * Radix @ 9 psi / (stock bottom end * 90 mph) + 7000 lbs=

It'll take it for about 7500 miles before it gets the convertor. About 100 miles afterwards ...

Update:
Cory pulled the heads off....and.....2 rods snapped in half, very impressive! Looks like number 1 came over and took out number 2 as well....The rest of the pistons and rods are in great shape Damn weak assed rods/rod bolts....Cory can show some new pictures later......

Wow, the destruction was complete, sorry for your loss. the good side is you'll have a better/badder system than ever, however, maybe a little hard on the wallet. Good luck and see ya at the track with your new set-up.
Robert
