silver bullet, you drop the clutch when in second?? is it cause of your high tq #'s and you don't want to bust the ds? Most drop it in 1st right?

That's what I do too, except I use a line lock. I do it because I have 4.10 gears, and the RPMs climb really quick making it hard to keep the RPMs even. Also, if I tried to do a burnout in 1st gear, the tires wouldn't get as fast a wheel spin. In 2nd, you get a nice burn really quick...

I've done it that way since day 1 when I first bought the car brand new. Has nothing to do with tq #'s. 2nd gear spins the tires faster and more effective/shorter burnout. As far as busting the ds, in the water box is not where that's gonna happen, it'd happen at the line when everything's sticky. And I believe most that have been around have done it in 2nd. Lemme do a little digging and see if I can post an incar video of my car a long time ago. Hope that helped,

Brian

Here's a video incar of a 12.15 @ 115 spinning out of the hole. This was a couple years ago with just basic bolt-ons, 12-bolt w/4.10's and a comp 224/228 .532/.535 114 cam. But at least this kinda sorta shows how I drive as far as the burnout goes.

I never had a problem with shoes. I had a problem with springs snapping. Since I put the line lock in I haven't snapped another spring.

Thats pretty crazy. I cant says I have ever heard of that. Anyway Im sure I wouldnt mind having a line-lock. I guess Im just used to heel and toe. Maybe someday.

Hey I went out to best buy at around 10:30 and all I saw was spanish rice. Is it better to go later or are some nights just better than others?

Usually later (12-on). It's just like anthing else. Some nights it's great and some nights it's not.
