I went to the game yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. We got young quickly and I think this will help a lot. Washburn went after the entire lineup aggressively, even Vlad(who i think we should just walk every time he's up) and did well.
Our bats are pretty damned good. Our new 2nd bagger is hitting the ball very good and so is our new catcher, Johjima, who also calls a great game behind the plate and has handled the pitchers better than I thought he would.
Overall they looked much better than I thought they would. I know the seasons just starting, but I have much more confidence that we'll do decent in the AL west this year, instead of being cellar dwellars all season.

I can't stand the fuggin Angels. So glad we took the series from them. I was "here we go again" after the first game.
Meche(headcase) will be a question mark for a while, we'll see how he does tonight.
We also are looking much more aggressive on the basepaths, made a couple mistakes trying to leg out doubles and got caught stealing a couple times, but I'd rather do that then just sitting there waiting for the batter to get a hit. Gotta put pressure on the pitcher and catcher. We are fast too and have a great defense. Could be a good season. I sure hope so, I'm tired of being the laughing stock of the AL West once again.
New yawks next on my hate list. Oakland I really don't have a problem with.

It almost looks like the whole team is on steroids again. ('01 season -- we were the most charged team in the majors ... and think about it objectively.)
During the preseason I was afraid that the only way we would see 116 again was in the loss column, but after watching the first couple of games, I don't know. If we can get rid of Beltre early in the season (the only time he gets on base is on a fielder's choice or an error), we might have a chance again.
