Default damn price of mods now

You know it all started with a few say $200-800 upgrades. Then it was $1400 a pop. Now its freaking at least $2000 for an upgrade to my car. Rear-end will be about 2400 before Tom and a new DS. Tires and wheels were just $2100. My wife(who is a ) would if she ever knew how much I've spent. Sooner or later I'll just have to have a forged SB as well

Actually, I DID mean a dollar fifty.......I might go as high as two dollars, but that would be the most I would spend on a 10 bolt.

Hell I don't have to worry about any of the "breaking stuff because of too much power" I'll take the 10 bolt for as least $2.50!

To tell you the truth, I'm still running a 10 bolt, but has been built up about as strong as it can get. tjwong of coarse did the work and it has been holding up great.

There is always one of you in every crowd.....gotta disprove the theory.
While there is an exception to every rule, if TJ built yours I am guessing it is hard core........my factory 10 bolt died around 30k with only 2 visits to the drag strip on it (6 passes total) on street tires, launch from idle, etc. Had it fixed under warranty and it is already making noise again at 35k.

Damn you and your sturdy 10 bolt. But I bet you have an automatic don't ya?

Yep Tom did mine as well. Was taking to him earlier this week and he agrees as well that the 305's might be the end for my 10 bolt if I start dropping the hammer off the line. I get away with my power now because I dont really have traction off the line. I have some with the RII's but not as much as I'll have with the wider and bigger 18's. I'm just preparing myself for what I know will come. I was thinking if I sold my 10 bolt now it would be worth more than after it gets broken. Its in great shape as it is. Tom completely rebuilt it last year with 373's.

My 10 bolt history - 1st yes auto (TH350). Stock had no problems. Then I changed the 3.42's to 3.73's that lasted about a season when 2 teeth on the pinion gear broke. I think that was faulty metal, because under the teeth that broke were some air pockets. Then I went to 4.10's and by this time the engine was no longer stock. They lasted 4 years before I blew the posi out. That is when I took it to Wong and put a new set of 4.10's in, a locker, and a TA girdle. Haven't had any problems since.

I have yet to begin to mod the TA... but if its anything like what I have done with my GTP... which will most likely be done greater! I'm not going to skimp at all. On the GTP I spent close to 1.5k on just getting it to where it is, buying stuff all brand new and not cutting corners! After another 6k into that one, the TA will see its tails, until I begin modding the TA!

Plan on going with a Turbo kit with IC, built Tranny, and rockers with the GTP, hopefully should net it high/mid 11's! The TA, I told the wife I wont stop making it faster until I am doing single digit 1/4 mile runs and maintaining a streetable drivable car!

Just hope she reacts better to the bill for the TA than she did with just the 1.5k spent on the GTP. Afterall it is suppose to be her car!
