Default What is this Chevy worth?

I need help with this one: '78 Malibu, cowl hood, nice paint -but not show quality, straight, Ford 9 inch with 4.10's, built 350 auto -but no trans brake, roll cage, comes with Centerlines and drag radials, fuel cell, no engine.

A value range would be interesting to me.

Thanks in advance.

Waht are they/you thinking about asking for it? The value of something like this is widely variable. Without an engine it drops value fast...

searcing online would help a lot. Perhaps Racingjunk.com could offer some comparable packages. They sell a lot of rollers there and I sold my Jerico and clutch there.

Thanks for responding.

I am not selling it. I am thinking of buying it.

You guys are [I]a reliable source. I am aware that such values are variable, that is why I asked for a range.

Well, it has over $5k worth of salvageable racing parts, so I'd say it's worth at least 1/2 of that....but a roller is usually near scrap price for some strange reason.

I was surprised to see the prices so low for that body style. This is a nice example too. The owner bought a tubbed car so this one is for sale. I can see that the value is based almost completely on the condition, just like a Mustang -but I wanted some input from those who likely knew more than me about the brand.

I wouldn't pay more than 1500 for it, the only real bad *** part is the rear. But with a roller unless you took part in building it you don't know what headaches you inheiret with the car. Those do make awesome street machines. I had an 80 Malibu with only 29k miles on it. Ended up selling it for 2k back in 92-93
