Anyone racing today? Anyone going just to watch/videotape?

Someone has to video tape some racing for me. That's the only way I can get my fix.

I have the budget authorization, but can't race and record at the same time.

I might swing down that direction tonight. I don't have a track approved car yet so I can hold the video camera if someone brings one.

I've decided to go ahead and make the trip to Fry's and pick up a camcorder. If I don't have to let it sit all night to charge I'll bring it over to the track and break it in. In any case, I'll have a camera ready for next Wednesday...assuming the weather holds.

If you haven't done it already, might I suggest Costco for your purchase location? UNLIMITED return policy...even years later.

Already bought, but now that you mention it, I should check whether Sam's Club has a similar policy. My wife has a business membership there.

Sam's Club > Costco

Although I have no idea what their return policy is.

How'd ya do?

Me? Consistently bad.

14.5 @ 97
14.7 @ 96
14.7 @ 97
14.3 @ 99

LOL I couldn't get traction. Best 60' was a 2.3. Bald-*** tires. Oh well, I guess I'll eventually get better, right? With some tires I think she has a high 13 in her, considering I've only been driving stick w/ RWD for 4 months pretty much and never had to really launch before last weekend

I guess I'll get there

14.3 @ 99 isn't a bad place to start with an LT1 and your first season at the track. Heck, that's what I was running my first couple times with my GTO. Practice and track prep make a big difference. By the end of last year I went from a 14.6(first race) to a 13.9(last race).

BTW, I've got the camera working. I had to get a DVD burner to work with the DVD-RW discs it uses(I haven't substantially upgraded my computer is years and only had a straight DVD player). I'll experiment with it on Tuesday and plan on taking it to Pacific with me on Wednesday. Hopefully I can find someone to get some shots of me who I can trust not to walk with the camera.

That wouldn't be me. . . haha j/k! So you're going NEXT wednesday, too? I don't know if I'll be there or not--I work in Redmond and can't get another day off. I will probably be there next Friday though, and I'll def. be at B-Town on Saturday if it doesn't rain out.

Thanks for the reassurance, by the way. I was feeling like the worst driver on the planet

Thanks bud. I'm going to head out there one of these days but would like to wait until I can get plenty of track time. So far this season it's been pretty crowded. Hope it gets better as other tracks open.
