Default Went to the local track

Would have been fun to have had the TA here. I could have had some fun with the local talent. Tho it's only an 1/8th mile track, I only saw a few cars that ran faster than hi 6s. BUT - there was a VW bug with a 4 cyl that ws running 5s, and having to let off to avoid hitting the wall. Easily a 4 sec car. Not sure what the works out to in the 1/4, but it's FAST!!!

You'd be surprised what VW Beetles run... they only weigh 1400 lbs, so imagine what you'd get with a 300 hp motor in that car. It would be about like a 700 hp F-body. There are tons of Bugs that look really unintimidating, are street legal, and run 10's. I think the fastest streetable Beetles right now run 8's, and the fastest VW powered dragsters run 6's.

I always cracked up when the Honda guys started talking about having the "first imports in the 10's" when VW's had been there for over a decade.

Sounds like fun! Would be more fun if you were at Daytona in February

There was a VW bug at PR couple of years back, ran something around low 8's but I haven't seen it since. Had a great set up with some chrome latches to keep the lid off the engine, you couldn't see what he had stuffed in it but it ran like a bat outta hell
