You can use the stock rockers actually...

You can't beat his heads for the $$ and they do include the springs.

But like 99BlancoSS said just find a nice used cam.

Who did the porting? What kind of numbers did he put down. I dont know who johnb is so I have no clue about the heads your talking about. I dont have a problem with used heads but you do want to check the springs and valves. also what springs are on them and how many miles on what cam is good to know. It looks like if you shop smart you can get a used tr224 for about 250 delivered. They go quick though, so you need to jump on it when you see it. Or is you see a 224/228 thats would be a good choice as well.
The money in heads is relatively easy to figure out. The cnc work is about 600-800 depending on who does them. Then you have some hand blending. Then you have a valve job at about $250. Then you add in the cost of springs, retainers and valves. So depending on the valves, springs and porting is how you figure if those heads are worth $900.

IMHO the best deal at TSP is $1200 for their stage 2.5 5.3 heads. For a n/a stock cubed motor I think they'll put better numbers down than their ls6 head.

yeah basically you spend a couple hundred more then their LS6 and you get a set of complete heads with PRC double springs, titanium retainers etc... either way i believe the 5.3L ported heads are better then the LS6 heads. but ill need to still purchase push rods and a new timing chain and gaskets
these 6.0L heads i believe have around 2,000 miles on them, have yella terra 1.7s (for an extra $300), and flowed like 308 cfm @ 600 lift., they have "new" 918 springs on them, and John B said jason has a copy of the flow sheet.

They dont sound to bad. As long as the valves arent bent the amount of miles on the head doesnt really matter if they have new springs. The 918's are all you need for the tr224. Your more concerned with 300 and 400, 500 and 550 lift flow numbers than w/600 with a tr224.
The yella rockers are $480 new. Stock rockers are fine for your application so save the $300. Have the heads been milled at all? Thats important to know but even so, with a tr224 you should be ok on ptv clearance but can easily be checked while your doing the swap so its no trouble at all. Sounds like your real close with the money so it might be worht it to get them. Then get a used cam and your good to go. You'll still need alll the gaskets and new heads bolts so any money you can save is better for your $1500 limit.
