Default Practice trees...

Well, since I can't get to the track as often as I'd like to practice, I figure it's the only way I'm gonna get my reaction times down hard enough to compete well... so I'm gonna buy a practice tree and start working them down.

Been looking at a few of them through Jegs and Summit, and it looks like they range from about $50-60 for the cheapies, up to like $200 for the really nice one that you can add the optional weather station to....

Just curious... anyone have experience with any of them? Is it worth it to crash the buck for the fancy schmancy one, or are the cheapie ones the better value?

I am getting a new one this week

I have had my Biondo Final round for 14 years. it is a great tree and I got it for the incandents bulbs. the most realistic you could use!.....until they switched to LEDs

Now I need to relearn the tree with LEDs. Biondo does not sell a converion kit so I am SOL. I guess I will buy a big tree and use it to run that

SO looking at the new options I am going with the Port-a-tree this time with the snap in Weather station

Either of these tree's would be good for you just make sure you get LEDs

Yeah, I've been considering the Port-A-Tree just because of the weather station option. I wouldn't buy it now, but it would be nice to add it in later. Dang thing is $200, though.

It's just a little hand held box with a LED christmas tree on it. You hit a button to stage, and then release it to "launch".

Yeah, except for days like the last race when they didn't have it turned on.

Yeah, I remember using yours for a while, and that was the year I had my reaction times down pat, and was winning trophies. I wanna get back there again, but I can't get to the track as much as I used to.

Yep... or you could sit in the staging lanes between rounds and practice one-on-one with someone else on the team.

I'm definitely getting one, the question is just which one. I'm tired of cutting .200 lights.

Amy and I have one. Very very fun. Though we spend more time on the Pro tree because that is the way everyone races it mission. Need to spend some time on the Street tree.

Yeah I was going to say Zeke, if you need tree practice go to Mission and race. Not like it's 100+ miles from you or anything.. When I went there and ran full tree for the first time I did pretty bad. Pretty bad.. My best was .423 out of 4 runs...
