Default Teh Metro will make a return

.. at the next CCC race.

Blew something up saturday night in the beater.

Somewhere in the driveline something is jammed, I can't start the car. I was able to coast down from a high speed pretty far to an onramp where the car sat for several hours before it was towed home at 4am. The noise stopped when I put it in neutral. At first I thought blew my belt as it made a similar wurring sound but no slapping noise.

Chances are something like the throw out bearing is jacked up, but it's pretty evident to have been in the driveline. I didn't look at the car on Sunday as I let is sulk in it's misery out front on the street.

Just shows 4,500rpm launches all night at the track adds up.

So ... I'm going to let the POS sit for a few weeks while I get a plan of attack, which may involve a tranny build similar to Charlie's and that involves you, Ellis.

I'll let you know. Until then.

Fear teh Metro.

Oh man, you're in for it... I think I'll be at the CCC on Saturday in "Teh Impala of DOOMZORS" instead of my mullet-mobile. We're lining up, grudge match style.

I challenge all of your daily drivers against my red Volvo! When's the next CCC? Not sure if my Camaro will be ready by then, I need to change the engine mounts and don't have much free time.

Speaking of which, do you want those picts from the last time it was at the track? I have the mondo huge ones that you can blow up into posters for all to witness and worship at work.

So which one of those is your daily? And how are you running mid 13s in your SVO for under a grand, what turbo is on there, 60/63?

The 4 banger mustang is my daily driver. Its not exactly an SVO. Its a notch with a Turbo Coupe drivetrain. The turbo thats on it is the stock little IHI spinning its *** off to get 18 psi. And to answer your other question.

89 mustang body-$200
87 Turbo Coupe engine and 5 spd. trans-$250
87 Turbo Couple 8.8 w/ 3.73s-$150
87 GN intercooler and plumbing-$100
Misc. hoses,belts, blah blah blah
Oh and the sticky tires

What the hell.. Is it completely stripped or something? How much do those cars weigh? What are your 60's? Over a second faster than my Volvo at only 6psi more.. That's pretty impressive, to me at least. By the way, I've got a spare Volvo 16v head...

Edit: And I get 27mpg MAX! Bastard!

It weighs around 2700 lbs so its not totally stripped. But its not exactly heavy either. I would love to do a 16v head conversion. That and a bigger turbo would be fun.
