Best live band I never got to see
The Allman Brothers Band...
Been old schoolin it lately with some classics from a better time in music. I'm sure theres a few of ya who can appreciate what I'm sayin.
The remastered Fillmore East is pretty damn good. Just something about live music for me.

I've seen a LOT of bands and used to work concert security back in the day.
I honestly have to say the consistently best live performance I've seen is Metallica. I've seen them at least 3 times and have always come away with a new appreciation for why they're still the undisputed kings of Metal.
The band that most exceeded my expectations and gave a top notch performance was Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I wasn't a Tom Petty fan until I worked their show. Very professional and enjoyable.

If you like the Allman brothers band you should catch Government Mule sometime... not the same... but definitely cut from the same cloth with a darker edge.
They play in Seattle when they tour. They played two dates back in April. One electric and one acoustic. I caught the electric show
