Default Wheel Spacing?

So I'm curious, just how much clearance between wheels & brake calipers is enough? Is .1" enough, or do you need .25", or _____ ? This is with the wheel torqued down of course.....

From what I am seeing on the vette forms and guys going with bigger brakes all you need is just enough for the wheel to spin. There should not be any flex with the wheel itself. So, .1" should word just fine.

Yeah, Eric's right... my brake calipers and wheels are pretty close, but they clear just fine. Just has to be enough for the wheel to spin without any contact.

You should have seen my wheels and calipers with the 17's on there... I'd say a few thousands clearance once it cut its path thru the wheel weight.

I have about .2 on the rear and under VERY hard braking (after my 10.38 run) the wheels had marks from the calipers - deep ones. I don't think I'll try to make the first turnout at that speed again

That is the thing I'm worried about. I have no idea how much the calipers move under heavy braking, which for some reason I have to do with the blower on the car.

When I put C5 brakes on mine they recommended .1 as a minimum clearance.
