Default New Dyno #s

I went to Marysville Speed this afternoon to dyno the new blower. THe car made right at 600rwhp (595 & 598) & over 700 rwtq (708 & 728) the last 2 pulls. And that was with it running out of fuel. Literally on one of the runs. It was down to 1/4 tank of gas, the inj duty cycle hit 150% & the fuel pressure was at 40 psi.

I put some gas in it but it didn't recover, so I figured it was running out of fuel pump. But going over the logs, none of the other pulls had that issue, so I don't know anymore. They were all around 80-90%.

But it is running out of power at the top, which I figure is the air inlet hat.....a known, documented restriction on D series setups. The power starts to taper off at 5k, goes flat by 6k, and then drops off. I planned to pull it off & see what it did, but with the fuel issue I decided not to.

This all brings me to the question, what to do about racing this Friday....

Even with problems that's damn amazing.

Hope you get it resolved and more power out there.

Holy crap.

Probably the best solution, provided the pulley gets here from ATI in time.

Are you running speed density on that thing? I'm just curious.

I just read this after posting "I hope you hit your mark, Mark"!

Nice to hear! Good job Mark........that thing is going to move! I'm going to try and hit PR this friday. If the weather permits, I'm going to try and ease into 100hp jets locking out first gear. Try to get the hang of this setup and then go for broke with some the 150's if I feel comfortable.

Hell........I may get kicked out with the 100's. I just got to get this thing to the track.

Holy crap!!! That's damn impressive, and running out of fuel to boot... You better be careful, pretty soon you'll be making licensing passes in that thing.

Thanks everyone! I was happy & unhappy at the same time. I know, how could I be unhappy with those numbers? With this blower it "should" make more horsepower. And judging by the tq numbers it will.

But I think all that will have to wait for next year. I really didn't design the system for this blower. And it showed yesterday. So over the winter I will redo the entire air inlet path, add the meth kit (if I don't get that on next week), get the 85mm MAF & a 2 bar MAP on & dialed in, upgrade the fuel system again and tune it. I'm hoping it will hit 700rwhp & 750rwtq then.

Oh, and quite possibly it will get a cog system from TJ. If there is room.

We'll see what it does this Friday.

The numbers sound right on...

With Meth (more timing) and cutout, you would be in the 640-650ish. That's probably 725-750 threw a 10 bolt and manual....

Keep up the great work MARK

I have a few ideas now that I know will get Ellis's car, and maybe mine (more weight) in the 10's NA.... So, it might be a little while before I get mine going again....

Jesus phuking christ....thats alot of freaking horsepower! Cant wait to get a ride in that thing sometime Mark.

Is a cog system really needed at this point. I was under the impression that those werent needed until you started encroaching on the 800+ point. But then again, you arent to far off from there.

Congrats mark!

People have seen some huge gains removing that inlet hat and going to a 4" aluminum Elbow. But you'd have to move the lower part of the radiator forward. Time for the SawZall and a welder. It would be worth it!

Ryan K.

BTW, Great job!

Also, you should go get your Dyno runs on File (disk) so you can look at them on the Computer...

It will get there. We all ready have plans for the inlet and the Cog is needed on many setups that push over 12Psi. No matter how tight you get the serp. belt it starts to slip. With a Cog you do not have to put un-do pressure on the crank OR blower extending the life of both

As soon as that other pulley shows Mark lets hook it up

I tired, but they don't have a USB port & I didn't have a disk. They showed me some cool things you can do with them, like plot how fast the car goes from 60mph to 120. But then Ellis would convert them to WinPep7 & tell me I really only have 550hp.

As for moving the radiator, that will likely be a winter project. My Be-Cool is already moved forward 1" (the AC condensor is gone). And I may just try a Boost-A-Pump for the fuel issue, since it's not far off. That & the meth kit may do it.

The good news is my other pulley should be here today (according to ATI) so I should be ok for Friday.

I should be out this Friday, but I'm not yet ready (comfortable) running anything bigger than 100hp shot! You should have seen how violent that 150hp shot came on.

It sounded mean as hell. The normal scream of the engine running just before the nitrous hit.......and then BAM the nitrous hit hard and the car got twice as loud running ripping through the RPM band really fast.

Man I wish I had got that on film.
