You can come still check out Rollin's 6xxhp (speculation based on driving the 'Beast') n/a 427ci monster. C5R block and ls7 top end amongst other goodies.

Well it was nice to meet you Perry! And that car sounded so mean. I take back what I said when you pulled up about it being docile sounding.

We should plan a day for a few of us to go hang out, get some food and enjoy eachother's company. Maybe your son could bring out his T/A?

Anyway, it was a pleasure..........and I'm truly glad you finally got this car.

Now its time to see what it'll do in the 1/4.

Dudes my car is back on blocks. I got a check engine light on Friday. It was not starting right and a P0343 code. Chances are my cam bolts worked loose, so I am tearing down to check them. Got the water pump out. Next the timing cover, but oh the crank pulley has to come out, but the steering rack is in the way, oh no the turbo pipes are hugging it all. Anyone got some spare explosives???

Dang Chris that is a bummer. One of the reasons I do not miss my blower was EVERY time I had to work on it the IC had to come out For those who never saw the old ATI system the IC cover the bottom of the car from the radiator air damn to the engine and was three cores wide

Get it back together soon man Robert has plan's for you!

BTW Perry I have NO reservations your car is Quite possible the fastes car here I have one of the fastest N/A cars here and I am SURE yours is much faster

Yes indeed, I opened the timing cover last night and found all 3 cam bolts loose. Now I have alot of parts to put back in... This job is alot of work, I wonder what the shop would have charged for this? $$$

I can buy alot of beer now with the money I saved! ..and I better get the wife something too for putting up with me being holed up in the garage for so long!

I used to think foreign cars we made bass ackwards, but after dropping the steering to open the timing cover, I think some of the foreign engineers have penetrated GM!! (and drop the rear end for a clutch? wtf!)

Who put those bolts in? I would surely think they would use loctite?

I must agree. After working on many C5s I am not a huge fan...but it does not stop me

From what I've just learned, these were never assembled with loc-tite. Seems to be a common issue with forced induction LS6 on stock motor. News to me though! Not sure if it's as common with LS1...

Running the stock LS6 cam. The whole motor is stock. I don't understand it either, but several people at another forum replied to my post saying they had similar issues after getting a power adder. One guy explained it like this:

"The is some play in the cam gear hole when installed, when the power jump up it starts to work the gear on the cam because of the slop. This always the bolt load to drop allowing it to back out." - from Dr. Phil @ corvetteforum
