Had to visit the Dr. yesterday.
One of my clients runs a sports medicine clinic and is the head orthopod there. He also used to be the trainer and surgeon for the UW. Since he is a client of mine, I was able to get in on short notice. I get there fill out all of the paperwork saying "I have a boo boo" and they toss me in the first room available saying "we are having the surgeon look at you since there might be small bone damage that needs to be fixed". I sit there for a minute staring at my foot going "man, thats ugly" and then in walks thier new female plastic surgeon/micro surgeon in to look at me. When she asked how I did it, her response was "Now what kind of sport is this"? I just said "MMA". She didnt know what that was so I said "You ever watch UFC?, same thing". Then she got all kinds of nice and friendly. "Soooooo, your a UFC fighter, thats really neat I loooove watching those, they guy I used to date watched those with me all the time". Then she looks at me and says "But were not together anymore". We ended up chatting for a little bit about all kinds of stuff and then she goes "Oh, before I forget, you foot is fine. Just alot of soft tissue damage, nothing broken".
Long story short, I walked out of the Dr.'s office with a perscription for a heavy hit of ibuprofin, an ice pack and a phone #.

LOL, sorry but I am not the "leech" type. I will try get one on my own.
Noted. Any lady that wants to buy me one can. As long as my wife can drive it sometimes.
Now that I got that out of the way...
Glad to hear its not broken and the ***** are back!
This is Mark if you hadn't figured that out already.

The work outs are pretty intense but thats a good thing. But I dont get as much time on the thai bags and focus mits as I would like (Mark, care to join me?). I have been trying to find a training partner but there are only a few people there that actually want to compete and only look at this as a way to tell people "Hey, i am a tough guy, I train in MMA". Those are the guys that are the most fun to spar with
I think there are only 4 of us that are actually competing. My trianer said I am one of the few leightweights that actually has knock out punching power. But I dont like to stand up and trade blows with an opponent. Its useless and its to easy to get "caught". I try to be patient and methodical and force them into making a mistake by creating angles and then capitolize on it as fast as possible. If it comes to someone that likes to play the stand up game I keep my distance and let me legs do the work until they figure out that trading blows isnt going to work.
My flexability has improved to where I never thought I would see it. I get alot of people telling me "for an old man, you can sure bend yourself into some crazy spots". Yeah, I am considered an "old man" in this sport. I just remind them of Randy Courtuer (sp).
And to be honest with you I dont even know if I am going to call this girl. Right now my main priority in life is my 2 kids that I hardly ever get to see. I have to be there for them both physically and emotionally when they need me. Once they get older I might start dating again but right now I have ZERO intentions of doing so. My son is already really confused about whats going on and I am not about to thrust someone into thier lives.
Not only that, but name me one person that would seriously be interested in a 33yo, with kids that is flat broke.
My weight moves around alot. Depending on what I had to eat that day, the level of work out etc. Usually in "dry" form I am about 162lbs. "Wet" I am about 154lbs. My fat level has dropped drastically. I was checked last week and I am down to about 7.5-8%. Prior to a tourney I would like to have it in the 4% area.
Everyone I train with, with the exception of 1 person is considerably larger than I am. When sparing I am usually giving up at least 30-40lbs and in one case I am giving up almost 100lbs. But the good thing is after working with those guys and I spar with someone in my own weight division, I can really impose my will on them.
You KNOW that I'm kidding. My old kick boxing instr is about your size & he can lift my fat old a$$ off the ground with his kicks. I'll call you & see what we can setup.
