exhaust to loud need some help finding a good shop to helpme with this loud exhaust. bouught the car a few months ago.only has 9000 miles on it.I only drive it a couple of times a week.I drive from granite falls to redmond.The guy I bought it from said he had a flowmaster system installed,he diddn't know exactly what system.But it's irretating.It sounds cool but over a long drive it's too much.Would like tofind out what I have and if necessary completely replace with a quiter system that still performs well. You can make it quieter by adding some sound deadener. I have 1 3/4 headers, no cat and a hooker cat-back I insulated mine from the back of the front seats all the way to the taillights and it is quieter inside than my buddies bone stock C5. Only downside is I probably added about 150lbs of weight.
i like the loudness, i have hooker headers, 3" true duals, with sweet thunder mufflers, which basically sounds straightpiped but with a meaning. thats why you just get a monsoon system and have the stereo up when you drive a long ways!

yeah, I had the flowmaster system on my t/a...I didn't think it was very loud.
The hooker system is a little quieter (at least at first), is supposed to flow better, and definatly sounds better.

If you want to compromise and keep the loud exhaust, but make the interior quiet, you can always install some dynomat (there are other similar products). You see it used on almost all of those car shows (overhaulin', etc). A friend of mine installed it after getting some true duel, flow master 40 series for his '66 stang, so I know it works well. It honeslty makes a difference, give her a try maybe?
