Well I was ashmed I got a 79 rx7 and 302 to put in it, turbo it ect. Well still workin on that and I thought to myself I really dont like fords. I know this after owning a Roush stage 2 mustang. That stopped my evil thinkin of ever having a ford again.
To much money into it to dump my 302 project tho and scrap it.
so for 700 bucks I picked up this 79 Rx7 widebody and I'm going to put a 350 in this one. Got to get some honor back. It has a 13b Na in it. so once I get it sanded all the way down I'm going to paint it. Do some powdercoating in my shop.

I feel the same way about SBC. I realized that when I had to get-one-started for a neighbor, but that feeling was based on not knowing the motors as well as I know a SBF. There are trivial advantages and disadvantages with each brand. At the end of the day, you can get aluminium heads for either brand, after market pistons and cranks, aftermarket... whatever. Your selection of aftermarket parts will probably matter more to performance than the Detroit manufacturer you choose.
You probably used a 302 because the dist is in front or because it is lighter and narrower than a SBC. Those are still good reasons to stick with the engine. Just like a SBC, you are a catalog away from any part you want.
