Default I hate MSD products.

MSD plug wires ruined my day. Stupid things went up in flames and took out my wire harness that goes down by my starter for my O2, Knock sensor and ect.
Took two Starbucks Grande Mochas to put the two seperate fires. Good thing I smelled smoke when I did, because it could have caused a lot more damaged if it was left to burn.

This is only the second faulty part I have bought from them this year. The first was a set of coil packs for my Lincoln that didn't last a week before one was fried. Literally cracked the case.

Time to go back to some good ole Taylors.

You know, I've had the 8.5mm MSD plug wires melt before in my Stang. 80 bucks down the damn drain when I should have went with the ******* ford 9mm (which later, as I found out, happened to be cheaper) that would have been 10x more durable.

Friends have had similar problems with MSD set ups.. not sure what gives. Maybe they suck? LOL

Yep, MSD sells a lot of crap. And the best part is they don't stand behind their stuff. I had one of their "performance" radiators start leaking into the trans cooler after 6 months & they did nothing for me. That's why I don't have a set of their coil packs....

I had the same problem with MSD wires in old LT1 car. I went through a set MSD wires, Moroso Wires, Accel Wires until finally, Dr. Groo hooked me up with some Taylor and routed them the right way.

Whats the deal with the MSD wires? Did they electrically catch on fire or was it a header issue?

Yeah the boots were on fire. They were close to the header but not touching. I guess they need to add a sheild like the factory units to keep from burning.

My Magnecore's lasted 60,000 miles and still measured resistance as stock when we last pulled them.

I'm REALLY hoping the MSD Pro Billet Opti doesn't suck like this.... it's going onto my rebuld.

Ive had MSD wires catch fire but it was from the headers and extreme heat (was trying to limp home at high rpms in low gear).. and on another set of wires, the metal inside the boot that snaps around the plug, broke.. so it would intermitently loose connection.... I still like msd though lol
