Default Whodda Thunk it????

Who would have thought that a bad battery would cause idleing issues? I just replaced my battery cause the factory one finally gave up the ghost. Guess I should have replaced it long ago. Started the car and it found a nice pleasant idle in seconds. Guess now I can have Ellis tune it with no problems. Got my linelock installed and it works great. Only problem is when I went to test it out I got the one wheel peel??? Doesn't make much sense since Dan just rebuilt the rear last March. I hope it is ok. Gonna test it out again today.

I've seen some weird issues with the ecu and the dash lights with a low battery but not the idle. What diff do you have?

Stock 10 bolt with Auburn posi and 3.73's. T/A cover with girdle. I took the car out for a drive and did a burn off without the linelock and both wheels left tracks, so I think my rear is fine. Have to check the brakes and make sure everything is ok.

The guy ran a Limo service for a while but couldn't make a go of it. The thing is kinda trashed but would probably sell it for pretty cheap.

That is amazing Doug. Like I told you when the battery was going south in my truck, every time I pulled up to a stop it wanted to die. I thought it was something bad, until it didn't start & I replaced the battery & all was fine again. Damn computer cars....glad you found it.

Yeah......that is a weird situation with the idle.

So have you found out if your 10bolt is okay? One wheel launches aren't going to get you into the 10's......

I think the rear is ok, just need to check to see if the brakes are working properly. Left a nice 2 wheel peel on the road yesterday, so I just think the one rear brake is locking up with the linelock.

Well thats refreshing to hear. It should be a good race season. You planning on anything to run quicker this year?

Haven't had the pleasure of seeing or talking to you in a while so it'll be nice to see you and that SS out at the track this year.

Have not done anything to make it faster. **** I still have not been able to afford to put a roll bar in it. Hopefully by mid May I will have the roll bar and a good tune. Shooting for 11's N/A and real low 11's, maybe high 10's if I'm lucky. Thinkin about Sunday if the weather is good. Yea it's been a long winter, but we'll get together soon. Can't wait to see what you have done to that monster. You put down some awsome #'s at the dyno. Hope it carries over to the track!!!!

weird. the linelock shouldnt effect the rear's at all. Its the front line that gets replaced and all it does it hold pressure to the front brakes by using that noid. Maybe you have a brake hanging back there but it shouldnt have anything to do with the line lock at all.

I'm not sure if I'll be racing soon.........I have a few bugs to work out with my nitrous setup. I'm going to work on shortening the fuel line length and pray it helps my huge lean spike issue. If that works, I'll be ready for the season. If not, I'll need to find another way to fix this spike issue.

Either way if the weather is good this weekend, I'll be out to watch the races. I have to work Friday and Saturday, but I'll show after I get off.

Would you mind asking what he would sell it for and if it has any problems? May know someone who would buy it...

Thanks man...I was up in your area about lunchtime (mine that is) the other day to buy my boat dash and was killing time so I drove by to see if your garage was open or if I saw signs of life. I know you have a different schedule so I didn't want to wake you.

Turns out that even though my battery did need to be replaced, The problem turned out to be the positive battery cable. I just got it from the local Chevy dealer to the tune of $62.00. Should be an adventure putting it in. Seems the fluid from the battery seaps into the cable and corrodes it over time.
