I'm leaving.... Yep, I will be moving to Atlanta, GA. Got an offer too good to refuse so I will be flying out right after Memorial Day. The rest of the family will be coming shortly afterwards with the cars being shipped in an enclosed trailor. Now I will be about an hour from the Atlanta Motor Speedway, two hours from Talladega and of course there is Road Atlanta that I plan to get very familar with. Not to mention that f-bodies and vettes have huge followings. There is GMMG, MTI and Vengenace in the area. Not to mention that the highways are 5-7 lanes through the city in one direction with NO ruts! I am really excited and a little sad at the same time. The family is bouncing off the walls though. So, if everyone wants to do a Hooters run before the 27th I will be up for it rain or shine.
You'll have to check out the F-Body Gathering one of these years, man... talk about an awesome site... walk out of the hotel and see an entire parking lot full of nothing but sweet F-bodies.

The more I think about moving some place warm & DRY, the more jealous I become Eric. And I think one of the possible plane routes from here to Tampa is thru Atlanta. Maybe I'll drop in sometime.

I am open for whatever works for everyone. When I was down there at the end of March it was sunny, 80's and wide open highways! They have one of the biggest vette dealers in the country that you know I will be getting to know plus all the tuners. No front plates required either. Your right about the housing. I can get bigger than I've already got for less plus the property taxes are half of what I pay. Good move for us all the way around.
Sorry to see ya go! ...and I was down near Talladega last weekend (didn't go to the race tho... wife is an adjunct professor for JSU, and my parents live about an hour away in Helena). AND IT WAS GEORGEOUS THE WHOLE TIME I WAS THERE!
Which side of Atlanta? I still go down there for business from time to time as well (usually the perimeter or Alpharetta).
