I cleared all the codes right before I went to the test and,....."BLAMO" failed. drove it for one day and it passed no sweat! though I cleared the codes with my hyper-tech hand held this was BEFORE I did the head cam thing and all I use the hyper tech for now is just to clear codes............By the way anyone tried to go through inspections with a cam and head combo???? cam is 228/232....112 heads are ported LS6. YA,.....I'm sweating it!! any experienced advice??

how bout heads cam turbo no cats ??? cause um this guy I know .... um has a setup like that ...... and um I was just curious and stuff .....

If your using LS1 edit or hp tuners you should be able to pass with no issues in our state after the drive cycles have been met. 15 miles in town and 15 on the freeway will clear the drive cycle code. Its set up that way so we can't sit in line and clear the codes then do the test

Hard to use those on an LT1 There programs that do work on OBD-II LT1s are not as complete at times as we would like them to be. Untill last year there was only OBD-II LT1 edit and the support? Well not much of that from them.

Emissions are the major reason I sold my later model EFI cars and bought an '82. I read the laws, took some lumps, and learned some things in the process though. Technically, your car cannot be modified, although they never seem to enforce that law. The car must appear stock to the testing agent They are usually not car people, but they will find disconnected lines and hoses, as well as missing exhaust-manifold-to-air-cleaner heater hoses; for sure, they will see missing cats. A nasty little law I found was that the buyer of a car that cannot pass emissions can be forced to pay a fine until the car is registered, and the buyer cannot register the thing until it passes emissions. That law had me in contact with the WA State Department of Ecology. To get the waiver for work done in an attempt to pass, all emissions equipment must be present and verified by the mechanic that did the $150 worth of work, and the $150. minimum doesn't begin until after all the smog equippment is back on the car. I also found that the testing agent can expedite passing the test even though the car will not meet sniffer standards. That much I have direct experience with. Admittedly, my cars (an '87 and an '89) were older than yours, but much of this still applies.
