Default Good deal on 5.3L?

I fiound a 5.3L on craigslist, and they're asking $1000.

I called the guy and he said it's pretty much complete minus the alternator and wiring harness/computer.

I'm thinking without the wiring harness, it kinda kills the deal.

How much does a wiring harness/computer run (used)

What do you guys think?

Man, two years ago you could find low mileage 5.3's on ebay all day long for 400.00,,, complete drop-outs.

Guess the swappers finally got in on that lil' secret, driving the prices up haha...

Seems very reasonable if it runs. I think a 5.3 is the same as a 6L with a few internal changes (except for the heads).

Well I got a line on a 6L with tranny with 18k miles. Might go pick that one up. I offered them less than they're asking, so we'll see.
