Default Mustang guys

My buddy has a 2004 Mustang GT an he's getting some longtube headers and a bassani x-pipe, he says he can't find a shop thats familiar with 2v GT's in the area that can install them for him. He lives in the barracks like I do an doesnt have much for tools either. I'm not all that familiar with them so I don't know shortcuts an tricks to help him out. What would you guys suggest for the Tacoma area?

I haven't personally been a customer but they recently helped build another Whipple '03 Cobra with some extensive mods.

In my opinion it's not really a big deal to find a shop to install exhaust parts for a 2v Mustang or any other modular motor to be honest. I would be more worried if he was going to swap cams where the timing chain needed to be adjusted. That's when it's vital to find a shop with personnel who have specific training.

Auburn isn't too far from Tacoma ... but Turbo Tech is just off South Tacoma Way. I'm sure they're more then qualified to work with general exhaust parts.

I think I'll tell him about this place, I don't have anything against Turbo Tech but more than likely he'll be doing more work so it'll be good to be in business with these guys when that time comes,

Total Performance across from Pro Max on South Tacoma Way should be able to do that task with no problem.

Does the base have a shop with lifts and tools and stuff you can rent out? It's usually dirt cheap, every navy base I've been on has one. Usually called auto hobby shop or something along those lines.

The shop on base is pretty lame, really dirty, tools are messed up an they won't let you keep your vehicle in there over night, ask Evan. I use to go to the McChord Auto skill center to do my oil but after adding up the costs to rent the shop an getting the oil, filter etc. I really wasn't saving any money as if i had just taken it to another place to have them do it. That is a great deal that is hard to pass up George, whats with all the free dyno passes lately you guys feeling generous?

Not really, just like helping guys out if possible and I remember working on my hotrod at McChord AFB when I got stationed up here and it sucked then too.

im not trying to take any buisness away from anyone but its fairly simple, time consuming but simple. just beg one of you ncos to barrow their garage and a cherry picker. depending on the brand of headers really depends on the fitment. i had macs at first they were a complete bitch, it seemed lke nothing fit right, later i switched to kooks. they were almost to easy to do. all i did was put the car on stands it has to be fairly high, use the cherry picker to take the engine weight off the car and drop the front suspension out. if i remember right there was a total of 8 bolts to remove. slide them in bolt em up then put the k-member assembly up. it shouldnt take any longer than a day with general tools. just steal you tool box from your motor pool for a weekend. then when all said and done go get an alignment.
