Wheel studs? I know the simple rule of engagement into the lug nuts but never heard you must replace them.

The stud needs to be long enough for the thread to be inside of the hex head of the lug nut.

[QUOTE=Rockin C Racing]Some miss information above.... A competition license is required at 9.99 or 135 mph not 10.99.

OK I worded it wrong, the point I was trying to make to my customer is the license is required at speeds over 135.XX mph.

Turbo Tech - not a problem. Just wanting to clarify is all.

And as for the studs, yes you are correct that the thread needs to engage the hex of the nut. From the point that the thread engages the nut, it must extend beyond that point 1 1/2 times the diameter of the stud, If I remember the rules correctly.

Yeah, I understood the message. It will be a concern since I ran 133.4 and was pedaling the throttle in 1st & 2nd, with no powershifting. I will certainly exceed 135mph before I see 9.99. I have a Drag Pack with ET Streets on my wish list. I was telling the wife about this last night, and she said "since you're putting all this money in it, you should go race for real and go win some $$$". Sounds like a green light to me!

Safety stuff certainly aint cheap. Go price the GOOD Hans devices. But it is WELL worth the price, and you never know when you will need it.

If you've never been in a wreck in a car that was going fast, you will be surprised how many Gs your body has to survive. Everytime I see John Force wreck I'm amazed a guy that old can get out of a car on fire & walk away. And it MUST be due to his equipment, because the human body is pretty fragile, especially an old body like his (& mine).

Also to get your license, you will need (if your are not already) a NHRA membership and a NHRA competition number. Just FYI

The blanket in the link dosen't seem to work to well with long tubes, burning and falling off. Some have cut the bottom half off. Also, you have to pull the motor to get it on?

I just looked in the 2007 NHRA Rulebook and there in NO license requirement for 135 mph - only 9.99.

The Bremerton tech official told me last night that a competition license is required when you are within 1% of 135mph, regardless of ET. That means 133.65mph. I never expected that!

That must be a vapor requirement. It is NOT a NHRA rule and I just checked the Bremerton website and it's not there either. Next time you're out there, ask him where this "rule" comes from.
