Default the ultimate mod for Hummer H2

We recently pulled the loaded trailer (nearly 7000 lbs) thru I5 mountains into California, and would have liked more power. I found this conversion package that is the friggin bomb! I'm afraid to call and find out how much it's gonna cost...

An article says that in 2WD mode (Hummer currently full time 4WD), combined with an economy mode, the mileage can go to 30mpg! However, you can also get 1000 ft-lbs torque! (probably not the same setup?)

30 mpg quote:

Must investigate... Anyone heard of these running around?

Yeah that might be fun, whipping up a spicy bio-diesel recipe. I wonder about the 30mpg myself. The only time I see that good now, is when I'm coasting downhill. I'm gonna call this week and get the scoop. I bet the Duramax power is nice!

I think even Cory would appreciate Duramax power with ability to go 2 wheel drive.

I rent one in Portland almost every time I go home, and love them. But for hauling, I can definitely see wanting more power, though the most I'd ever haul with one would be quads/bikes, or a boat, etc. Supposedly GM is going to be putting a baby Duramax in them soon. Waiting to see how that turns out.

I called them, and the turn-key conversion for 500hp/800ft-lb Duramax with Alison 6 spd auto is 40K. It would be cool, but not THAT cool! However, it would pay for itself after 300,000 miles.
