Default Anyone need an engine?

I have 3 engines you can choose from at the moment. I have the 5.3L from my Avalanche (iron block w/alum heads) the 5.7 from the TA I just bought (all alum) and a 6L (iron block w/alum heads). One of them will end up in my Avi - not sure which way I want to go right now, so buy one & help me decide.

As you probably know, I just pulled the 5.3 last month to stick the 6L in there to get more towing power, but that motor just lost a head gasket (the reason GM replaced it originally) so I'm pulling it to send it to the machine shop. I'm assuming the deck isn't true & Cory never had it checked. But it has ARP bolts, new LS7 lifters, LS2 timing set, a new ported LS6 oil pump & has less than 5k miles on it (I think), so once it gets the ok from my builder it might be more interesting for racing purposes. The 5.3 & 5.7 are bone stock w/75k & 67k miles respectively.

I also have 2 sets of heads. (plus the stock ones on the 5.3L) I have a stock set of 6L heads, and a set of stage III level 5.7L heads that are hogged out with big valves & triple springs. I've thought about putting those on my car to pick up some more hp, but that would require a piston change to keep my low compression for boost. The 6L heads have bigger combustion chambers, & I have some ported & polished 6Ls on my TA with bigger valves & Patriot Gold Springs now.

I also have a tranny, 2000 PCM & wire harness if someone wants the entire setup to put this into something else. I have one stock set of F-body accessories & brackets & one made for a Vette that might fit into who knows what else. And of course all the pans, covers & sensors.

In the interest of getting rid of my collection & getting some cash to finish putting my TA back together, I will try to make you a good deal.

Prices (obo)
5.3L - $1000 sold
5.7L - $1500 sold
T56 - $1250 (w/Hurst shifter) sold
PCM & wire harness will go with the motor & trans if bought together - buy it all for $2500 - comes with everything - all acc, sensors, inj & fuel rails, clutch & slave cyl, etc sold
Stage III heads complete - $1500 sold
6.0L - keeping it (call me stupid)

You can come drive the 5.7 & the T56 if you want to check it out. The 5.3 was fine when I pulled it. So if anyone is interested in one of these, let me know. And I WILL stand behind them!

Ram Air Hood - sold
Ebony Interior - sold
Radio & 6 disc changer - sold
tail lights - sold
front facia
front fenders
rear facia
trunk lid
head light covers
head light motors
drivers side door (window motor works great)
stock 10 bolt rear end w/3.42s sold
Autometer 2 1/16" narrow band A/F gauge sold

These items MIGHT end up for sale:

Red anodized tall welded alum 'Nasty' valve covers
Red anodized ported Jantzer TB
LSX 78mm Porsche midnight metallic intake spoken for
Walbro 240L in tank pump
Kenne Bell Boost-a-pump
Alky Control System
Megasquirt SPOKEN FOR
HAL single adj shocks

How would those stage 3 heads do on a stock displacement engine? Are you tempting me to start looking for more combustion volume?

Seems to me that's one of those parts that winds up costing more than the part

Who, ME?! Never Jonathon.....well, ok, maybe. These should help just about any LS motor perform better. (however, no warranty is expressed or implied regarding the rest of your drive train )

They are 5.7L heads (99 versions I think according to the numbers) And I think they have been cut .015" which would raise your compression to around 11:1, and I have the correct length pushrods. All you should really need to worry about is not running > .600 lift cam (for piston to valve clearance).

For what it's worth, I saw no KR during my test runs on 92 oct gas. (short lived as they were) And it pulled HARD above 3,000 rpm! Now if you wanted to run a turbo or blower, then the 6L heads would be a better choice....

Hey Mark,

Is that engine harness/pcm for an Fbody or truck? If it's an F-body harness, shoot a pm with pricing.

I may actually be interested in the alum 5.7 and T56
I'm possibly picking up a 53 chevy to rock around town
it's already got a 70's 350 in it (that's kinda tired)

When you were looking Eric I hadn't decided what I was going to do yet....

Sorry Rick, the one on the new car had a broken mast case so I snagged the old one. But the mast is good....maybe we could build one good one with parts from it & yours?

Mines stuck in the up position, so I'm thinking all it needs is gears. I'd be all for building one good one out of two.

Rick, I'll be around this weekend if you're in the area.

And I haven't published a complete list yet Mike, not 100% sure about some things yet. Nor do I know what some things are worth. Here's a partial list of some of the other items that are in good condition that I know are going to be / were for sale:

Ram Air Hood - sold
Ebony Interior - sold
Radio & 6 disc changer - sold
tail lights - sold
front facia
front fenders
rear facia
trunk lid
head light covers
head light motors
drivers side door (window motor works great)
stock 10 bolt rear end w/3.42s
Autometer 2 1/16" narrow band A/F gauge (black face)

These items MIGHT end up for sale:

Red anodized tall welded alum 'Nasty' valve covers
Red anodized ported Jantzer TB
LSX 78mm Porsche midnight metallic intake (spoken for?)
Walbro 240L in tank pump
Kenne Bell Boost-a-pump
Alky Control System
Megasquirt
HAL single adj shocks

There is probably more, but that is all I can think of right now. If something looks interesting shoot me an offer.

Mark
