Default Deferred speeding ticket got revoked!!!

Damn justice system...

Received a letter today saying that my deferred speeding ticket on June 1, 2006 has been revoked due to commiting a similiar infraction during the deferral time frame. I got another speeding ticket here on June 16, 2007 for 70 in a 60 (whoop-de-do) That had been my first speeding ticket, I thought deferral time was one year from infraction... not that I was trying to get another one, but seriously?! I don't get it either that my sister can speed around in her little chevy malibu, but I get pulled over in a heartbeat for going 10 over? I hope my insurance doesn't go up by much. Geez, I'm just a little upset right now, I need a drink.

You'd have to check your court documents from 2006 to see if it was a one year or three year deferred ticket. Some judges will put you on a three year deferral - but now you are pretty much screwed.

Does anyone know if they still do that defensive driving thing to get tickets dropped?

In my area its a 1 year defferal. Definately check on it though, the system makes alot of mistakes and are pretty cool about it if you bring it up with them in a polite manner. Go in there like a raging asshat and the rules can change based on your attitude.

But seriously you should've been driving like a grandma during the deferral. But I agree with the chicks getting out of too many tickets! My sisters can turn the tears on at will and have NO tickets. Pisses me off.

Well, it hasn't work for me yet, maybe next time I'll turn on the water works.

Oh, I didn't think about that, I'll call on Monday and see what they say.

I'll just wait and see what happens to my insurance, I guess.

Did you pay the second ticket already? If you didn't, hire a lawyer and you'll most likely not get charged with the first ticket either.

I thought the deferral was for 1 year from the day of getting the ticket, but maybe it's 1 year from the court date? I'd definitely call the courthouse and check, it can't hurt to try. Having to pay 2 tickets at once is going to be spendy. Plus they will go on your record...

Yeah, I've already paid for the second one, I got the second on June 16, 2007... I didn't receive this letter till today. I guess it's too late in any case.

Yeah I have to pay $100 for the deferral getting revoked, now I don't know if that's just the standard penalty payment or whether that was the other part of the ticket payment that they dropped off the first ticket. Geez, with all the money they make off speeding tickets you would think they would be working on the roads more, ya know better to speed on then.

Stupid justice system...

lol, that's why I drive my F150 most of the time. When I moved here in 05, I got pulled over 3 times in 3 weeks. Only once did I actually do something wrong, but in 3yrs I have not been pulled over once in my F150. Hence......

C5 - 8,000 miles in 3yrs
F150 - 16,000 miles

P.S. - I thought girls could talk their way out of a ticket , what happen????

My wife has more tickets than I

I'm pretty sure the deferral starts the date the case is closed.

Good luck with it.

Yep. Sometimes its the cars that are targeted and being female can rub a cop the wrong way...something along the lines of "girls can't drive and shouldn't be driving a fast car"

Dang, you've been pulled over a lot! I've only been pulled over twice, got a ticket both times...

My Escort 9500i has caught so many or alerted me to one so many times it isn't even funny. Was coming home from wife's parents place one day doing 80 in a 60 with the TA, got a signal slowed to 60 and about a mile and a half away it picked one up coming around a corner, after I mingled in with other cars.

I have noticed that not only do I tend to drive faster with it, but so does the wife, and just think, a year ago you couldn't even bribe her to speed.
