Some where there is picture prof of my car running Z06 times at an SCCA event. Only real changes since then is more power and different TQ arm. . .And I kept the old TQ arm just for suck events

Well, do you ever drive it to the track and back? I guess thats the true definition for this group. If you trailer your car it miht be considered a race car..lol

I'll change my definition again if you catch me on it..lol I guess your lucky, you can get away with more because your car had less to begin with..lol even though its one of the fastest.. arent you in the 10's?

Ellis I thought you had a full on drag suspension now ?

I'm not looking to make rules in my favor, heck I wont even get to race you guys, I'm just having fun. I ran a 13.2 best with a 2.6 60' LOL
I'm juat stirring up the big boys. There some big FI in this group. No way I can touch any of them.

I think there is more to being a street car then ac and a radio. To me I really dont care about all the special things like ac, radio ect.
The things that make it a street car to me are...
1. Has to be able to pass a gas station
2. Be able to handle a turn over 10 mph
3. Not load up in traffic
4. Not over heat in traffic
5. Be fairly comfortable to ride/drive
6. Not need a trailer to get home (Robert I think I can allow tow trucks, hehe.)
Anyone have any different criteria?

If it gets driven on the street every so oftem BAMMO street car. **** by what some of you are saying then my daily driver is a racecar lol. 99BlancoSS sorry but a good strip suspension does not make a car not a street car. Thats like saying a guy with bilstein/strano's or something is a track only road course car. Trailers well i would trailer mine if i had one just because what if it breaks? Also you could change tires at you house instead of at the strip and not put unwanted miles on them.

That's exactly why I trailer mine...too lazy to change tires at track cause I have a big truck, I have a car trailer, might as well use them...and the whole possible breakage thing.

Try putting a 2nd set of racing wheels & tires in the back of an F-body with a roll bar/cage & you will immediately find out why some of us trailer our cars. It can't be done! I trust using racing wheels & tires doesn't make it a "race car"?

Not to mention we might need to tow a friends Vette or Mustang home when it breaks....

And I will come find you Aaron. I know I can't beat your car yet, probably even without the juice, but I AM going to show up & see what happens. Heads up, no car lengths, mano-e-mano. It WILL be fun either way!

I just leave the ET Streets on year around, and with radials on the front, which adds to the drama. That brings up another interesting point for those that think they can drive my car better than me. The bias ply in the rear and the radials in front, watch out. Not like a solid axle car at all, these bad boys can get squirelly as hell even on a preped track. Most, after a trip or two with this combo, will not ever run em again. Has something to do with the caster/camber front to rear fighting each other.
Pony, I would run ya also, but not for cash, unless I thought I had a chance.

Then I am golden!! Heck I usually get 20+MPG driving to Bremerton! Thing never gets over 180 unless I am hitting it with juice and is back down to 180 by the pitts

Robert what the hell do you think we raced on for years? Bias Drag tires on the rear and out 275 Radials up front. I think we got the wave from side to side covered

BTW The new suspenion parts? If I swap TQ Arms would be even better for corners then the stuff I had before. . . and it was damn good before I am still looking but there are several pictures of it. one of the car sideways through a diagonal box 'Clean'

Well I agree with what your saying about suspension, but I do have to disagree somewhat to it. I understand you can drive a full drag race suspension on the streets and not have to much of an issue. BUT I will guaranty that you can not keep up in the corners if your suspension is full on drag. IT cant be done. The nature of the travel of your suspension will not allow you to drive through s turns and such under power. Maybe I'm wrong but if that were the case then road racing supensions and drag racing would all be the same.
As far as the drive it once in a while on the street makes it a street car.. bullshit. a street car gets driven on the streets all the timne. Not once or twice a year. Every sunny day your in that car cruising. As far as trailering. YES if you have to trailer your car it is not a true street car. Change the tires at home and drive it to the track. DOnt come up with excuse for the trailer. Why are you guys so defensive about being called a racecar? Your racers. You go to the track and race for points. Your cars are not street cars, they are drag race cars. Why is that so hard to admit. My suspension is so ******* hard its not really a street car per say anymore either. If you rode in it you might not like it. It only feels smooth at 65mph +

Any of you ever go to real street legal drags? People come off the streets and drive what they bring without tire changing. Thats my opinion on it. Your have yours.

Alter it from factory and you've changed the classification of your car in my opinion. Why is that a bad stigma? Its how much money you have that makes it a fast race car or not.

Some of you guys take this stuff waaaay to serious. A lot of really nice fast cars in this group, I'd put you guys up against anyone.

Ellis I know I cant beat you in a drag race but I'd have a go at some type of a autox event with ya. Its all in good fun.
Hey is now a good time to all you?

Yea, I know you were, however, my contention is that it's even worse with IRS. You may have a little better handle on it though, compared to someone whom has never ran that combo. I will let you try it out a time or two, and believe me, not many people have driven my car, so I must trust your driving.

If "altering it from factory" is the requirement, we ALL have race cars.....

And much to the dismay of the nay-sayers, Ellis & I have proven you CAN setup an f-body to do it all. We can adj shocks, change tires & run on ANY course with our cars. True, they might not hang with Boyce in an open road race, or Aaron at the drag strip, or even Eirc's vette at the PR road course. But compare performance for said cars in all 3.....and if you can do all 3 well, plus get 18-20mpg cruising, then I say you have a street car, NOT a dedicated race car. But then what do I know?

Have you taken your Vette around the PR road course Robert? That thing would be a friggin blast on that track. Vettes are made for carving corners. We should all go down sometime....

I have no problem saying my car is a racecar I drive on the streets. That's how I wanted it to be.

I understand what your saying Mark and there was an event this year that featured just that. I forget the name of it but it was a charity event.

We'll agree to disagree on wether or not a car should be called a street car.

What you and Ellis have setup is the new racing hybrid/cross event. I forget what they call it but you go from a road track to a drag track to an autox I think or maybe just the autox and drag not sure. But your not allowed any tire changes I dont think and very limited adjustment time. It seemed like a real cool event. Sort of levels the playing field.

Honestly I thought it was an honor to have your street car called a racecar. Maybe we should just use the term daily driver instead. Mine is not a daily driver anymore, I have the beater Kia I use most of the time.

Honestly I thought both you guys had HALS and that they were soft and can be made softer. I've never had them so I dont know. My appologies.

Hell no, my car is a dedicated drag car. My definition of a true street car is one you can travel across country and stop at any drag strip along the way. That's why they have triple A, no trailers needed.

Thats my problem, I keep wanting to take it up a notch and spray a 150 or 200 shot. But I have a traction issue, that solving would probably make the car worse at corner carving. Which is why I bought a Vette in the first place, IMO no offense but F-bodys make better pure drag cars.

It's no biggie really. But when I think of a race car Pro Stockers & Super Stockers come to mind. Aaron probably has the only car on our list that even comes close because it is tubbed & has a sheet metal interior. But whatever people think is up to them. Mine is a legally licensed street car that happens to run 10s. And if we were in Texas, it would be slow.

Hey is now a good time to all you?

Actually my curent set-up could do either. By simply changing my shock settings it would do a better job then you think. The only reason I would change the TQ arm is it wear and tearon the arm.

Lets put it this way. My 'Drag" setup on real street tires was as fast as Jon Adlans car with Chuck driving it The ONLY reason I did not win that day was i took a ten cone penalty for being coase off the coarse at the wrong spot. I had th efastest clean pass of any one there that day.

As much as they keep telling you there is a huge differeance but there on only a few setup changes that need to be made.

Look at Marks car and you might catch on

The only change i would need is to change the ET Streets back to the stock tire, nothing else. The roundy round stuff is kinda expensive though if you go hard core. We should have a track day for all the drag racers?
