New Key Fob I think my key fob died... put a new battery in it and still not working. Anyone know any local place that can replace it, or do I need to go directly through GM? It's really annoying having to actually use a key to unlock the door and get the key in the ignition within 10 seconds to keep the alarm from going off, it's really embarrassing when it does, even if it only beeps once. 
All you have to do is be near the car and hold the unlock and lock buttons for 5-10 seconds and the lights will flash and the key fob should be good to go. if not the dealer will have to do it.

Are all of our cars setup to go nuts if you open them with a key and don't get it in the ignition 'within 10 seconds'? I didn't know you could do this, I just thought the damn thing would go nuts if you opened it with a key! Mine definitely does this and I just figured my security settings were tweaked awkwardly. Silly me.

If I'm not mistaken you can change your security settings... I'll have to look it up in the manual again, but there's different levels of security you can try out. It's just a set of actions you have to go through in order to change them... like put the key in the ignition, turn it over, open and close the drivers door, something like that I'd have to look again. I'm glad I had those 10 seconds when the fob wasn't working, or that would have been really unpleasant getting into my car everytime!

Yeah the first time I tried the key I couldn't shut the ******* alarm off, even after I had the car started, and it was just horrible. I think I turned it off, shut the door and hit buttons randomly in a confused and embarrassed rush. Since then I have yet to use the key 
Are any of your 'security' lights on 24/7? I think I need a reset on the alarm settings. Mine has been on since the day I bought the car...apparently I stole it!
