Default CCC Meeting Report

We had around 20 racers show up for today's meeting, mostly from the NW F-body & Ford Drag Team clubs. New officers were elected, and some changes were discussed. I will list the new officers & I'll let Ellis chime in to talk about the changes.

2008 CCC Officers

Pres: Don Berry, PNWCC (Camaro Club)
VP: Kent Magruder FDT (Ford)
Sec: Mark Griffith NWFB (F-body)
Pac Race Dir: John Lemma FDT
Brem Race Dir: Jonathon Miller NWFB

If anyone has any issues or questions, let us know. We will be having another meeting in December.....I'll post a notice when the time is set.

Thanks Mark
It was nice seeing everyone again. I think 08 will be a better year for Car Club. Lets get the fun back in it like the good old days.

Nice to see you again Bill. I think everyone agrees last year lost some of the luster. It is our goal to get that fun feeling back.

Here is a quick summary of what was discussed yesterday....

Bill Sallia brought up that we should do points exactly like Pacific does for other racing events, and that Bremerton also does the points that way for NHRA events. So the common consensus was that the CCCA should eliminate our way of doing points and do points the same way the tracks do them. It would make things easier on the race directors, and easier to keep the points updated on the web site. (this will mean no dbl pts races or for perfect lights & such)

The web site came up. It was mentioned that Don had contacted Nelia, and that she agreed to help us out. The question was asked, when is the web site going to be updated. Don is supposed to give us that answer....

Also there was 100% agreement that if a racer won the drivers CCCA championship, then they would not qualify for any of the individual year end racer trophies the following season. They could still compete, and accumulate points for themselves and their team.

Ellis agreed to contact Jonathan, & Kent will contact John to give them some direction, since they will need to contact the tracks for race dates ASAP. Also, the majority preferred six races at each track. Bill stated that Pacific will dictate how many and what dates. Everyone stated that they do NOT want any back-to-back races. Or wednesday races. So hopefully, it works out that way.

We talked about getting a banner made to hang from the sign-up tent at the race track with the names / logos of the sponsors printed on it, & having cards or brochures available.

We talked at length about how to limit the "pro cars" from being vultures & stealing all the CCC trophies. Anything from only competing in one event with any car to cars must actually be driven on the street (instead of being street legal). No decision was reached, but this is an on-going issue with many racers & we all want to keep our ranks filled with amateur racers.

We also talked about having the RDs wear different color shirts so they are easily recognized at the tracks by the racers.

Mark

Nelia and I are ready to update the website. All we need is the information to post. I'll work with the current officers to get the data to post.

If it helps any Office Max does banners, just bring them all the designes and logos. They can also make them pretty big too, and if i remember correctly they are fairly cheap as well. i hopes this helps some.

So currently we still pay our $5 for CCCA, but do we pay any of the tracks CCCA cost?

I know a couple years ago before I stopped racing that it was like $10 to race at Pacific (one time fee) for a CCCA number.

With any hope I iwll be able to start racing this next year, Just either hav eto come up with the money to get my car done or money for Pizza & beer to get guys over at my house lol.
