Default Need some info on Suburbans

I'm looking at them, but having trouble finding a 1/2 ton model w/ a 6.0L. One dealer says that 6.0's aren't available, another says it is, and some people I've talked to have said that it IS available. Every used '07 model I see has the 5.3L.

When you go on Chevy's website to "build" one, you can't select the 6.0 w/ a 1/2 ton, but yet you can get it w/ a 1/2 ton pickup. Don't make sense to me.

Anyone know?

I was doing some research on Tahoes, and I know there wasn't a 6.0L available in them. I would assume that the Suburbans would be the same, except for the 3/4 ton suburbans.

Maybe you can look fur a Yukon XL Denali or the Cadilac whatever Suburban look alikes to get a 6.0L in one.

I'm pretty impressed with the power that my 05 crew cab pick up has even with only a 5.3L in it. Much better than my old Tahoe that had the Vortec 350 in it. The 5.3L isn't a bad engine....I wouldn't get the 4.8L though.

Denali's - too much moolah $$

Escalade - even if I had the money I'd probably never buy one. When I look at those things the first image that comes to mind is "lives in a furnished $300/mo apartment and wears 2 carat Zirconium earrings"

Buy a suburban with a 5.3L and but a GMPP 6.0L crate engine and drop it in. Bolts right up and runs on stock programming but it would definitely benefit from a dyno tune. I have done a couple of these swaps in 1/2T pickups that came in with the 4.8L baby LS1.
