Default Saw a 2000 SS FS in Woodinville

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...500&cardist=12

Saw this 2000 SS at Costco today with a For Sale flyer in the window. Car is clean as far as I can see (7 min to fill) and the guy told me his bro in law was from California, moved here then went to Thialand so my guess is military.
Bro in law is being told to sell it, he has no idea what it really is. You can tell the paint and interior are flawless - no cracks in the leather anywhere, no paint chips. Not sure about the build itself but if anyone is interested the engine sounded solid, no squeeks when pulling out or stopping.

And the driver bro in law wasn't happy to be driving it in the rain...

Hi All, I just joined this forum from the information provided by Gearhed this afternoon. I'm the guy that was seen in Woodinville today with the black 2000 SS. Yes the car has been for sale for a while. Like she said, I don't know what I have and would love to sell it soon. I'm trying to figure out why it's not selling. It really is a nice car, but is the price too high? Is it the wrong time of year? Is the car not a desirable model? Too many miles?? I'd appreciate any feedback from you more experienced members.....
Thanks in advance for your input.

2000 SS with the options yours has is listed in Kelley Blue Book around $10,400.....

Also, the time of year sucks......

Last year around this time I had a 2004 Mustang GT that I had up for sale all through winter and finally when some nice days in spring hit it sold............I didn't get a single response on it through all of winter though.......

My recommendation is, park it in the garage and sit on it for the rest of winter......Then in March or April throw a $11,500 OBO on it and see what happens......

My Mustang sold for above blue book value because it was very clean so if the '00 SS is as well then you can hope for an above blue book sale as well........

Wow! Good to see you here - guess I never did catch your name

I think you can cross post in the LSX Vehicles for sale forum, the restrictions for 50 posts or 3 months being here doesn't apply to sell a car.

You might get some out of state contacts but there is a transport company here as well, a lot of these cars are sold to someone in a different state. Whacky but it happens quite often.

There are a few aftermarkets on it but we'd have to pop the hood to really check it out. It isn't totally stock but not ramped up to "Ellis" standards either

Can anyone look up what was stock issue on this year model? My white book is still packed somewhere!

Glad to see another motorhead forum. That 2000 SS was my car till I retired and moved to Thailand. The car is in my sisters name now so it can be sold without a problem and my brother in law drives it once a week to keep the battery charged. It has been kept in a garage since new. The car has the SLP exhaust option. I did add the Corvette fuel rail covers and drilled rotors up front. Otherwise the car is bone stock. When I was living in the States I restored classic cars for a hobby so the SS has been pampered. It has 100,000 miles on it but most are at high speed (my cruise control was always set at 90) as I drove from LA to Phonex, Vegas and Reno for work.
Being a mechanic I pulled the trans and clutch at 70,000 miles just to inspect everything. I replace the complete clutch assembly even thought the clutch plate was about half worn. Also replace shocks and brake pads at about 80,000 miles. That is when I put the drilled rotors up front as the stock rotors were a little warped. If anyone is interested in buying the car and has any questions please fell free to PM me.
Thanks,
Rokit
