That's what my next job is going to be (housedad that is). I'm thinking I'm also going to get into the real estate market in some aspect to occupy some of my time too.

I've been contracted as a 3d artist for the last five years at MS. It's cool seeing your work out in the wild being enjoyed by people all over the globe and really a part of pop culture.

"People pay me for what I know, not for what I do"

I'm a wireless network consultant and spend way too much time away from home.

I would spend time away from home if that would net me a garage like yours.

Heck ... a garage period.

Its a great life, I recommend it.
But I have worked some real shitty jobs before, asbestos abatement being one of them. Construction and customer support for a computer company.

Formerly a lot of things (anywhere from retail computer sales, tire monkey, to game tester at MS), but currently and hopefully for a long while working for Apple Computers here in Lynnwood. Hopefully moving into a training position down the road or as a consultant with the company.

I also do photography on the side: http://www.finishline-photography.com

I fix/replace poles people crash into, trees fall onto, landslides swallow, garbage trucks snag.
Fix/replace underground cables upto 3000pr that contractors hit with backhoes, boring machines, piledrivers etc.

LOL sounds like the army but at least you get to see cool stuff that makes power. I just get to see cool stuff that doesn't work (lowest bidder) or makes excuses why they shouldn't work (99% of new privates).
