Default Shop progress...

Brian and I have been hard at work in the new shop trying to make it a sweet place to work on the toys.

For those who don't know its a 36'X36' pole building with 12' eaves. Its split into 3 bays, the center bay is going to be the home of a new Bendpak 10,000# two post lift. Its coming along pretty well.

VERY NICE Ryan! I take it those walls are designed for when Ellis comes over to help & starts throwing tools?

Ryan, how much is that setting you back when all is said and done? I'm looking at a garage project for '08 and am curious about your real-world costs. PM me if you don't want to post it. Thanks.

The shell of the building and the concrete was about $33K, and to this point we've probly spent another $4K painting, and building the interior, and running electrical...

What thickness did you have them pour the concrete? Doesn't the 2 post lift need thicker than the standard slab?

The concrete is 4" 4000 psi, for most of the shop. Where the lift is going, its about 10-12" with rebar in a 6" pattern about 5'x5'.

all you need is 4" of 4000psi concrete minimum.

I'm envious, good work! I could almost settle for a garage that has insulation and some other heating source than a wood fire
