They need those asshats to stay in the left for no reason. It forces less patient drivers to pass on the right thus increasing road rage incidents and a more costly ticket. If would take like 5 of those tickets to equal one neg 2.

The unwillingness of Americans to maintain lane discipline is one of the two major differences between driving in the US and Europe. The other difference is the lack of attentivness of American drivers. Considering almost 50,000 Americans die each year on our highways, a little effort by law enforcement could save many more lives than died in the 9/11 attack. But new laws and enforcement of existing laws won't win votes, so don't hold your breath.

I remember them talking about it on the radio I was excited, it's one of my biggest issues with Washington/Oregon drivers
people were calling in, saying how it was such bullshit that they were getting pulled over for nothing but driving in the "Fast lane"
for you washington natives:
there is no "fast" or "slow" lane
there is the "Traveling" lane (on the right)
and the "Passing" lane (to the left) for use when passing only

When I lived in the midwest they actually had sings posted that said stay right except to pass. 
But then out on the flats on I-80 the left lane was known as the Monford(sp?) Lane because of all the semis without governors that would cruise along at about 90 mph....those tended to keep the slowpokes in the right lane.

On my trip to Oklahoma last year, I'd say 90% of the drive I was in the "fast" lane. Most of it was because the "slow" lane was so rough and pot hole filled it hurt to drive in that lane...but then I never went under the speed limit either
