For those wondering.... Yes, I'm bored. Sitting in a Hotel Room in Kent by myself. Robert doesn't seem to be on tonite for me to pick on... Sheesh.... maybe I should just go to bed.

Yea that sucks. I have sat in too many god forsaken countries by myself (might as well be anyway) and just dicked with people until they didn't want to play any more. Then I was really bored.

Well, that answers it for me, Kurtis. Thanks for those pictures!

BTW, Just because one car has something, doesn't mean that its required...

Thumbs down

Just becuase it is not required does not mean that it is not a good idea for SAFETY! I know you like to do the bare minimum (the cage in the black car comes to mind!) but do think about what happened to Huskers car and the insane MPH that a turbo car like yours will go.

Thats funny, you just told me that you'd cut those bars out of your own car if they weren't required by the rule book...

j/k, lookin good Ryan! I would like a better pic of the corners of the dash tho.

What seats are those?
Yeah, I know the car is a mess inside. That'll be one of the priorities when it all goes back together, getting it all cleaned up.

The seats are factory, but were recovered with leather in the LT1 style. They are a really high quality leather.

I'll get some better pictures of the front corners. To make sure its behind the dash, I did do some cutting of the upper area, that I plan on welding back up when the bar is done.

Ryan please tell me I am not losing my mind though... They were that leather when you bought it right?
I remeber it like it was yesterday, it was out at Bremerton, first time I saw the car was bone stock with like a 160,000 miles on it and it was still running 13.60's.

Thanks Ryan, I thought I saw slots cut into the metal. I was hoping they would go thru those sheet metal plugs, but obviously not. Ah the price we pay to go faster....

Are you putting a dash bar? I know it isn't required but just curious. Also why did you have those front bars bend backwards so far? is there something in the way I am not seeing?

Well, thats the part of it that has Ellis up in arms. Its not the best angle, but it gives me a lot of foot room and ease of entry/exit. I have two kits to make the door bars swing out/removable but I may not even use them.

I plan to try angling the down bars forward a couple inches at the bottom to 1) move the attach point forward of the door opening and 2) tie them directly to the SFCs. DISCLAIMER: I havent' modded things up yet so I am not sure how things actually line up.

I am also going to install door-sill bars (if I can make them fit along the bottom of the TA seats).
