Engine help I'm wondering what all I'll need to replace to get a motor turning that locked up by starvation of oil (cracked oil pan)
I have the block on a mount and don't see any signs of piston/cylinder wall damage. You guys think getting new crank make the motor happy again? (It currently will not turn over.)

Crank, bearings, rings, and line hone it. Depending on how bad it is maybe new cam bearings aswell.
But since you are doing all that, might as well by a new short block.. Probibly be cheaper.

If it was run without oil till it siezed up then you can bet that pretty much any part that moves in that motor was damaged.
If they weren't damaged from lack of oil they would have been damaged from excessive heat, metallic particles that were being ground off and circulating throughout the motor....
Doubt there's any good parts in it without machine work.

Yea my insurance got me a new motor and i bought my old engine back for 250... pretty cool cause i had 2k invested in parts.
But ohhh man... I cant wait to get my car back!
