Angry Got a ticket tonight........

and for once,
I wasn't ******* around

going north on I5 comming outta fife

I flashed my fog lights (to signal to a bike that I was slowing to let him change lanes in front of me)
then the bike made an "Agressive lane change" (swept from far right lane to far left lane)
I then changed lanes to pass the car in front of me

there were 2 wsp cruisers behind us (I didn't care, I didn't think I was doing anything wrong)

they quickly pulled us over

officer said it looked like I was gonna try and race the bike

little does he know,
I have no trouble with litre bikes

I actually wasn't messing around,
just let the bike by, and attempted to pass a slow car

he said "I got both of you doing 74mph"
warned me about friday nights, bikes, flashing my lights, and what it "looked like"

and wrote me for 74 in a 60
ticked states that he "paced me"
but I honestly don't think I was going that fast (probably 60-65 at that point, but didn't think to look at the spedo, didn't think I was the one getting pulled over)

not sure if I'm gonna fight it, or get a defferral
(it's only $144, but I don't want it on my record)
and again,
I wasn't even ******* around

I don't think I deserved the ticket

that sucks

I really think that when people deserve a ticket (racers lounge 60 in a 30) they deserve whatever they get. sounds like just a cop wanting to ticket someone.

and now I wanna fight it

can you fight it and if you lose then deffer

a lawyer could probably get it dismissed pretty easy from the sound of it

You WILL NOT get it dismissed on your own. Judges think the WSP can do no wrong, in some cases I have heard judges say to the group waiting to be heard that if you were ticket by WSP, its sticking UNLESS you have a deferall available to you. This is if you are trying to beat it on your own. Now if you have an attorney, its a different story.

I got lucky on my last ticket from the WSP. The guy didnt even show on the ticket how he did it, it just say "5mph over". the judge said he had no "proof" and that 5mph was rediculous and dismissed the ticket even though I was going for a defferal.

If I was you I would go the attorney route. It may cost a little more up front but in the long run, it will save you big time with insurance rate hikes.

When I got my last ticket, the first thing the Judge said was that if we were going to fight it then we were out of luck because the State Patrol does not lie. I went Deferred. I didn't find out till later though that the deferred stays on your record forever.

I could care less whats on my record, its all about how much i have to pay for insurance. Insurance system is so f-ed up in the first its not funny, i dont need to pay like an extra $50 a month because of a ticket.

I had to pull my ADR (Abstract driving record) a few weeks ago and I know I had a deferred that I got a few years ago and it wasnt on there.

getting paced is easily dismissible in court. Ask me how I know lol... 80 something in a 60 paced... yea lol.

you guys who dont think you can get a ticket dismissed from WSP is goofy lol.

Oh back in march of 06, i was in a wreck, Single car (my car) going down a hill, drivers side tire blew & went down an steep embankment, ended the car nose up No damage to me or the car except for the blown tire.

WSP showed up along with county & city. The WSP gave me a ticket for driving to fast for conditions.

I was slowing down to go down the hill & the corner lol.

Any ways, day of court showed up, I showed up NO cop. (he was also a Reservist in the miltiary & was shipped over to fight fires in Eastern Washington) the judge was going to move the court date until. I told him I asked for the report done on the wreck, It never showed up.

Judge said our lost your gain. dismissed the ticket, & he would of even if the cop would of been there. even if I got the report he would of dismissed it, due to the fact that the vehicle I was driving was a 96 GEO Metro, that ended up with no damage on it. If I was driving to fast I would of never been able to save the car let alone my own life.

FIGHT IT. with our with a lawyer. if the judge says NO dismissle you take it to the next level. Judges can not side with the cops 100% of the time.

Now about that thinking your GTO beating a liter bike: you are kidding, right? You forget what it's like to ride your 14 already?? The new kawi and suzuki 1k's are just as fast if not faster. tsk tsk

That is kind of what I was thinking. I had just as much power if not more than you and couldn't pull a 600 but ran an 11.4 on tiny slicks. Maybe an older liter bike would be easily achieved.

you need to go to court and request the police reports and such before the court date. A lot of times WSP dont have the stuff ready and they get dissmissed. Also, he might have been going 74 to catch up to, but that was not your speed I had this issue when I lived in GA. he told me I was going like 45 in a 35, but he came up quickly and pulled me over. After I said he was full of it because he ran up on me and hit up lights. He didn't have much say other then slow down.

my car is quicker than most any "Street" bike (that I've seen) in the first 60'

but I was more talking about at highway speed (which is what we were going when we got pulled over)

keep in mind, all bikes are much less aerodynamic than cars
which makes a big difference at the top end

BTW
I finally sold the last of that 1400 about 2 weeks ago
actually hooked the battery up and threw some gas in it and she fired right up
sounded badass in my garage with only the exhaust manifold
