Default C5 Break upgrade?

I was having a hard time stopping at the track today, so I am looking at LG motorsport's G2 GStop LS1 F-body Brake Kit so I can add C5 12.8" rotors and use my calipers. And of course I have questions for the locals!

1. Does anyone know if they will clear the TTII's
2. Is this the right kit? looks like they are offering the kit minus the calipers http://www.lgmotorsports.com/catalog...oducts_id=1556

3. UMI offers a bracket but you have to grind the spindles LG's dont require grinding.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, so I dont order the wrong parts

We did the Upgrade on Howards. We wound up using the Stock Calipers.

Ask Howard how his are working

Did you use the LG brackets or the UMI?

Howard how are the breaks working for you?

I realize its on a different body style but a camaro on thirdgen.org had to grind down a tiny bit on caliper outer shoulder.

Are your TTII's 17's or 18's?

I think the ls1's have a larger piston than the c5s so you'd get "better" braking out of an ls1 caliper on the larger c5 rotor. Or at least more leverage.

We fit this set in side of Howards wheels. Yes we used the LS1 Caliper for those reasons

TTII's are 17".. I think I herd the same thing about the LS1 calipers!

Time for an 18" wheel. Then you could just slap a z51 or c6 z06 setup in there.

EDIT: and the c6 z06 stuff SHOULD bolt right up to a c5 adapter bracket. I didn't change anything there when I went from c6 z06's to c6 z06's.

I did not use the c5 z06 calipers for a couple of reasons, inlcuding that they had SMALLER pistons than my stock ws6. I have the Corvette sized Eradispeeds with stock calipers and Hawk pads on now and the set up performs great. But if I had to do it again I would probably get the UMI kit. It has everything you need. Then go see Ellis for the install.

So if anyone wants a set of c5 z06 calipers and stainless steel brake lines (the fronts won't fit if you use the c5 brackets) I have some brand new in the box in my garage collecting dust.

I might be interested in selling my Baer big brake kit to step up to a 6 piston Brembo setup. $1100 new will sell for less of course. Been kicking the idea around, at my cars weight and new power levels, I'm worried about stopping power.
