Default Need To Borrow J-Tools

Will be replacing a cracked oil pan for an LS2 over Memorial Day weekend and need to borrow the Kent Moore J-41476 and J-41480 Front Alignment Tools.

I "should" only need the tools for a day and I will return them pronto.

Would anyone in the Puget Sound region be willing to let me borrow these two items?

J-41476

I would use a straight edge and do it without the tools with a silicone bead on the front and rear edges.

Yes, and it would likely leak or eat the seal.

Use to find many instances of people not using the tools the first time.

If you're only removing the pan or one of the covers, you're not messing with the alignmet at all. No need for the tools, it's that simple.

I have replaced four oil pans from people who used that logic

You CAN get away with the pan if that is all you did but you remove one of the covers and you need those tools to do it right. OR you can do like many do and roll the dice on future leaks and problems

If you remove either the front or the rear cover and you don't use the tools, you are taking a chance. Are you feeling lucky today?
