I had a Summit x-pipe on my TD system on my 02 WS6. Used QTP lt's and though it was only lowered less than an inch, I had some clearance issues. My x-pipe had a permemant scrape/dent in it but that wasn't the lowest spot, the mufflers were.

Sounded great, but if I had it to do again, I would stick with a good catback. If td's are what you want then I say go for it, just something some people have to have.

Yeah, but the drawback is that they dump in front of the rear end... which is fine if you don't mind the loud droning exhaust when you're driving long distances... I can't handle it, though.

**** on my car (dropped 2"), an exhaust like yours would be scraping the ground over ever little bump, and I'd probably tear it off pulling into my driveway.

Actually, about 2 years after I had the custom set built and put on, I removed them and went with the TSP true duals. Clearance was awful and the drone was horrendous. Sadly I only had the SLP Eibach/Bilstein set up and there was no way I was going back to stock height. I have NO doubt that if I were still in my 20's I wouldn't care about the drone & noise, but with 3 kids and being almost 40, it just isn't my cup of tea for daily driving. And it wasn't worth it to me to spend the money to have them "fixed" so that they went over/under the axle and exited the rear. Clearance still would have sucked but the noise would have been more tolerable.

I now have two cars with TD's, and I kinda have to say, my dumped TSP td's are way better... I mean don't get me wrong the 99 ss sounds freakin sweat, but TD's have the noticable sound, and apperance that will never go away..

the ss has only 2 1/2 pipes over the axle into some borla's, not quiet but not loud either. Has a real deep rumble to them, kinda like a mustang.

I'm lowered with TSP true-duals and I scrape quite abit, its annoying but I can live with it just as long as its not scraping my headers because i had those coated. As far as the sound-it is loud, but I love it an I get compliments on it all the time. Its just all in preference really.

Meh, my wife loves a good rumble from a muscle car sounding exhaust......I was just tired of the drone and excessive noise. Like I keep saying, to each their own.

Mine sounds killer, and it's totally quiet in the interior... I get compliments about it all the time... you can hear it inside, but it's not loud enough to get annoying... It's not duals, though... Kooks LTs with catted Y and a GMMG.

You can get TD's to tuck but they have to be custom. I can make Borla XR1's to tuck like a single.

But that is the whole reason we try to talk people out of "universal" or even off the shelf ones. I've put a few on, they fit like crap and hang.

I even got in an argument with some 50 year old lady at my school because she said my car was too loud...stupid hippie should have minded her own business!
