Default RIP Scott Kalitta

Good guy, great dad, a true racing family. What a nasty way to go....I wonder they'll stop putting the ESPN camera boom in the sand pits?

I was searching all over for video yesterday. People wanting to blame soemone. In fact what we do IS very dangerous. Just going from 110 in the traps to almost 140 is a HUGE differance. Imagine 340.

Scott will be missed and the sport is going to change because of it. look at how much it has changed since Medlin died.

Very Very Sad , RIP Scott Kalitta

VERY classy run by Robert Height in his bye today with the whole Kalitta crew standing where Scotts car should have been & holding hands. So sad! Like you said Ellis, this is a dangerous sport we're in. After watching it again it looks like he hit the concrete at the end & the wreckage sprayed the camera boom rig. Might be time to change these short tracks....and weld in my cage!

Watching him hit the concrete at the end is pretty hard. So very sad...

That's sad they need to update some of these short tracks or not run on them. I still have yet to see the wreck they didn't show it on TV yesterday. Do they know what happen?

Brutal wreck. There's a bunch of vids on youtube about it.

RIP Scott! He went doing what he loved. I can only hope I go out that way.

It appears he may have had a supercharger backfire at the big end of the track. Just like the ones we have seen all season with Tony Pedregon and many others. It blew half the body off the car and the drivers compartment was engulfed in flames. The shoot came out, but appeared to be tangled and had no effect on slowing the car down. It went through the sand and fence and hit some sort of concrete pole/barrier. That sand didn't look good, when watching qualifiing before that happened. A dragster went off into the sand and it didn't slow it down until it hit the fence. It looked very hard and rutted.

That y-tube link above dosen't work, or at least it doesn't show the vid we want. They showed it on the news last night a couple times. So very sad to say the least. I think they will be cracking down big time. That freaking track is a piece of ****, christ, hitting a freaking concrete wall at the end of the sand trap and the car explodes. Not a very safe track, imo. If I have to go, that's where I would like it to take place, at the track.
Robert
