So kinda back on subject of bikes vs. cars for a sec. I have owned my car for going on 12 years and raced alot of bikes from a roll and the best way to figure out if you beat the bike or the rider is to try to figure what it was you raced, model, cc, and year as best you can and look at what kind of trap speed the mag testers got out of them.
For instance I raced an 07 CBR600 F4i on my pump gas tune from 40 and I got him by about 2 cars to 140. I went and looked up what the bike trapped and it was like 128 or so. My car traps about 128 on my racegas tune but after 100 mph I have an aerodynamic/torque advantage over the smaller displ. bike so he was probably not a bad rider. Im not saying that a better rider on the same bike would beat me, but its possible I suppose.
Now factor in he had a tuner and exhaust and I started from 40 in 2nd gear out of powerband and that makes it even more possible. From 70 it wasnt a very good race, I just pulled him from the get-go and had him by maybe 6-8 lengths by 140. Gotta love converters and turbos.

Bikes are super susceptible to weight. My '05 1000 with my *** (220lbs) on it traps 138. My friend's '05 R1 (similar HP/bike weight) with his *** (120lbs) on it traps 147! Yes, that was at the track (**Gasp!**)
There are lots of other factors. A bike's power curve is directly proportional to it's displacement (600's have an atrocious curve). Of course that's true for any engine, but the truth is amplified exponentially on bikes. Compound that with the ingnorance that most biker's think cars can't beat bikes and maybe they are a gear.......or two.....or three higher than they should be. This results in people coming in InTeRwEb boards bragging about hanging with a bike that traps mid/low 120s (ANY 600 made in the last 10 years) with a bolt on mullet.
There's lots of other **** too of course. I'm busy saving the world.
I'm willing to test a bike vs car theory with either my slow car or my slower bike when I get back.
Big D....out from Hell.

The size of the clankers on the rider will determine how fast one of these new bikes is.....lots of them are scary fast!
